Mindful Colouring

Faye really enjoyed spending the afternoon participating in some mindful colouring. Colouring has the ability to relax the fear centre in your brain, the amygdala. It induces the same state as meditating by reducing the thoughts of a restless mind. This generates mindfulness and quietness which allows the brain to rest. It is particularly relaxing when listening to classical music.

Blue and Muffin

Our lovely birds Muffin and Blue are a huge part of life at Deepdene. They love to come out of their cages and stretch their wings. They never go far and seem to enjoy socialising with the people who live and work at Deepdene.

MMCG Carers Appreciation Day at Deepdene

At Deepdene we celebrated the very first MMCG Carers Appreciation Day!

Congratulations Grace!

Congratulations to our newest Care Practitioner Grace Hough. Achieving this goal through covid has been a challenge but she was not to be beaten.

Well-deserved and on MMCG carer appreciation day too. Double celebration at The Westbourne!

Hydration Stations

This year June has been chosen as the month to highlight the capital importance of food and drink in maintaining health and wellbeing in health and social care. For that reason, we have created hydration stations where the residents can enjoy a whole range of fresh juices, fruit, sandwiches and salad.

Donated Flowers

A big thank you to Alison and Clare, Community Champions at Morrisons Skipton for the large box of flowers donated for our flower arranging class. Troutbeck will look blooming wonderful when we have our bouquets on display.

England V Germany

Everyone was in great spirits cheering on our country during the England v Germany football match. It was great to share the win together and unite in celebration.

England V Germany at The Westbourne

Our Westbourne residents watched the England and Germany football match on Tuesday evening. There was loads of excitement and flag waving by both ladies and gentlemen, topped of with a splendid buffet supper with a lovely refreshing glass of Sahndy and of course England score a goal.

National Candy Month

This week we celebrated National Candy Month 2021 by opening our sweet shop for our residents. We got a few favourite sweets from our childhood days, which were really appreciated and bought back lots of memories. The sweets were enjoyed by all and we certainly can say our residents have a sweet tooth.

Football Fever!

Some of our residents and staff at Hope Green are keen football supporters but even those who prefer other sports enjoyed cheering the football teams on. A great way of spending time together and socialise surrounded by flags, bunting and refreshments.
