Birthday Cake

Who doesn't love cake and here at Buckingham House we love to give the people living with us a freshly baked cake for their birthday.  Each cake being as unique as the people living with us.

Oomph Class

We love our Oomph exercise class led by Tom at Kings Manor Care Home, movement is so important and this class is so fun the people living at the home look forward to it.

National Cheese Day

For National Cheese Day we had another cheese and wine evening, it was enjoyed so much last time we had even more residents choose to join us for this one.  We think that we might have to do this again soon.  There was a lovely selection of cheese and crackers served with refreshments.

Stover Lake

The people living with us wanted to go on trip to Stover lake for a lovely walk and a picnic.  There was lots of wild life to look on the walk around and the lake was beautiful. The residents had a lovely day and are looking forward to going back again.

Lavender Bags

The people living with us got involved with making lavender bags today. The lavender was stripped from one of our own plants, then square pieces of material were sewn together and filled with lavender. To finish we added a nice piece of ribbon to make the bags look more decorative. They loved the activity and you could hear a pin drop; they were so engaged.   The lavender bags were shared with everyone.

We love to Bake

The people living with us had a lovely morning making cupcakes and then helping to decorate them afterwards. The cakes will be served with afternoon tea this afternoon so everyone can enjoy them. Yummy!

Gardening Time

One of our residents, Philip, enjoyed a lovely afternoon watering the plants, flowers and tomatoes in our greenhouse.  He used to garden with his dad so this brought back many happy memories.

Fruit Kebabs

Promoting choice at Kings Manor Care Home is really important to the team.  Giving people living at the home an opportunity to pick and build their own fruit kebab was so much fun.  It was really interesting watching what fruits people loved too.  Everyone really enjoyed the visit from the lifestyle coordinators and their bright trolley.

National Ice Cream Day

To celebrate National Ice Cream day yesterday we had local business Lola Vintage Ice Cream, who arrived with her ice creams & retro sweets for our families and residents.
Everyone really enjoyed the event and sampled many different flavours that were available.

Partnering with local school

Steve our Customer Relations Manager met with the Head Teacher & Admin Team providing Goodie Bags and Ice Creams for them at Lace Hill Academy.  They discussed that they want to incorporate the home into the Academy Curriculum for 2022/2023 school year. This will involve partnering together to bring more awareness around the care sector for the children, with focus emphasised around Dementia support whilst providing our residents the opportunity to engage with students across various age groups.
