St David's Day Baking
We’re kicking off St David’s Day in the best way we know how - getting the Welsh Cakes on the griddle!
From Aberystwyth to Caerphilly, down to Pernath, and back up to Colwyn Bay — many of those that live with us have proud Welsh heritage, and these cakes were a staple in their family homes.
Putting all our heads together, we managed to pull off a successful batch of cakes, ready for our party this afternoon. We got the seal of approval, although no one can do it quite like mother!

Raising money for Anglia Air Ambulance
On 1st February, the people that live with us made a Valentines Day Hamper which we sold raffle tickets for.
We managed to raise an amazing £150 which the residents wanted to donate to Anglia Air Ambulance.
We had Julie Come in to collect the cheque, and we celebrated with refreshments and lovely cupcakes which they all enjoyed.
Pancake Day
The people with us at Belmont House love Pancake Day and taking turns trying their hand on tossing the pancakes around each unit.
This generated so many laughs as pancakes either didn’t flip, they fell on the floor or lap of the resident. We were delighted when our kitchen team made us pancakes for tea.

Celebrating 20 years of service
We were delighted to celebrate 20 years’ of service for Sandra Wardle at Carmel Lodge on Friday 24th February.
Sandra, started her journey with MMCG as a care assistant at Hope Green Care Home, gradually progressing within the company to become Deputy Manager at Hope Green before transferring over to Carmel Lodge as Deputy Manager, 2 years ago.
Congratulations Sandra, and happy 20th work anniversary.
OSCE exam
We were delighted to celebrate Blessing passing her Croft OSCE exams.
The OSCE exam is an assessment of clinical competence which all nurses have to complete in order to receive a PIN number from the NMC and we are delighted that Blessing will be one of the registered nurses here at Croft House.
We are so proud of her achievement at the home and all of the team at Croft House wanted to say a huge Congratulations.

Colin - Resident Ambassador
Please welcome Corinthian houses newest team member. We have introduced a resident ambassador into the home who will be the collective voice for the residents at family meetings. He will be called upon when visitors attend the home to give his views and experience of living here. We feel it is will bring added positivity to the home and give Colin a feeling of independence.
He is very excited about the role and is looking forward to being involved.
Indoor Gardening
Many of the people who live with us are green fingered and have very fond memories of tending to their gardens and allotments. While the weather is not quite blessing us to get outside for long periods of time, we turned our trowels to some indoor plants!
Kath, a lifestyle team member, kindly brought Spiderettes from her own Spider plant to share with those living here, to repot and spread around the home!
Valentine's Day at Pinewood
Happy Valentine's Day from everyone at Pinewood.
The people that live with us had a wonderful day celebrating, everyone (including staff members) received a red rose and had a special Valentine's lunch.
We created a beautiful Valentine's frame, and many residents took the opportunity to have their photo taken with this.

Valentine's Day at The Hawthorns
The people that live with us had a very enjoyable Valentine's Day.
They all created their very own Valentine's hearts which we joined together to make a beautiful collage. Everyone was very pleased with the end result.
Valentine's Day Concert
A million loves songs later...
There is no better way to round off our Valentine’s Day celebrations than inviting family and loved ones for a wonderful concert, performed by Katalin and Stanley from the lifestyle team.
Valentines is all about bringing people together and celebrating the relationships we have, yesterday was certainly an example of that.
