Donna's Charity Hair Cut
Our wonderful Donna McDermot , Care Practitioner at Bowerfield Court, is cutting her hair to raise money for The Christie and residents at both Bowerfield Court and Bowerfield House. She will be sending her hair to a charity that make wigs for those going through chemotherapy. The cut will take place on 15th December, where one of the residents will make the first snip!

Cavendish Court's Shop
As our residents are unable to make it to the shops we brought the shops to them! Our residents were able to choose their toiletries, snacks and magazines all complimentary of the home. It was received with joy as residents were able to browse through the selections and choose their favourite chocolate bar!
1950's party!
Bowerfield House partied like it was the 1950s! All the ladies thoroughly enjoyed dressing up in their skirts and headscarves, with everyone enjoying the music and buffet. We all definitely rocked around the clock!
A Tour Of Ireland
Residents at The Westbourne celebrated their theme for November with A Tour Of Ireland which included watching riverdance performers, singing and even some dancing by the staff. It was great to see some of the men joining in with the celebrations, chatting together and tapping their feet to the music.

Donna is going from hair that reaches the top of her bottom to having a short bob! We have a JustGiving page set up for donations, please contact us if you'd like to donate.

Christmas card crafts
Residents have been getting crafty Christmas style, making some beautiful Christmas cards for loved ones. The amount of creativity we see is just wonderful, great fun and of course getting us in the moos for the festivities that are to come.

Pub night!
We had a lovely evening hosting a pub themed evening for our residents, by turning our bistro into 'The Wharf Inn'. Beers, wine, G&T's or a tipple of choice with a pub food for dinner followed by games of dominoes and cards. They had such a fun evening, so much so we have left our bar just how it was so it can be enjoyed at our residents' leisure.

Science At Brunel House
Science experiments today with orange volcanoes and the residents had great fun.
You slice a large orange in half, remove the centre and put baking powder and food colouring (optional) in to the orange and add white vinegar and watch the magic.

Comfort Month
During comfort month we held a relaxing social event, where staff and residents wore their pyjamas, played relaxing music and enjoyed facials and hand massages with scented aromas and creams, complete with a refreshing glass of wine. As you can imagine some fell asleep!

Sensory Bags
One of the recent craft activities at Brunel was making sensory bags full of beads, shaving foam, glitter, cotton wool balls and food colouring. The residents really enjoyed getting messy with this one.
