International Nurses Day Celebrations
Wednesday 12th May 2021 was International Nurses Day and we wanted to say a massive thank you to our nurses at Minster Grange and all of the district nurses and community mental health nurses. You are all amazing and today we celebrate you and all you do. We organised for a cake station in reception so our nurses and the district and community nurses popping into the home could celebrate with us.
VE Day at Hope Green
It was a wonderful atmosphere at Hope Green on Saturday as we remembered VE Day together. Reminiscing about street parties, and waving flags and pom poms with a great singalong made for a fantastic time. Residents also enjoyed some dancing, a game of Tin Can Ally and afternoon scones with jam and cream.

Worker Bee Of The Month
We had 2 winners for worker bee of the month in April. Isaac our kitchen assistant was nominated for going above and beyond at all times. Hayley our new carer was nominated for her positive attitude. Thank you and keep up the great work.

Celebrating International Nurses Day 2021 at MMCG
If a nurse declines to do these kinds of things for her patient, ‘because it is not her business’, I should say that nursing was not her calling.

VE Day at Bowerfield House
What a fantastic day we had at Bowerfield House. We celebrated VE Day with a quiz which Pat, Barry and Ellie won. They loved their prizes. Ellie won a bottle of wine and Barry and Pat won a pair of socks. We all enjoyed the entertainment, we had a singer on zoom. Our residents joined in whilst waving their flags, it was beautiful to see. We had a group chat about VE Day and everyone loved the decorations around the home. It was a great team effort to organise for a very special day.

Well Done Trish
Trish Gordon was kindly gifted this hamper by Head Office for recently passing her Care Practitioner qualification. Well done Trish.

A Thank You To The Home
To all staff at Bowerfield Court, thank you for the wonderful care.
I've been touched by all the kind words about T you have conveyed to me. It's clear your really knew and loved the sweet and gentle soul T was. I just wanted to say thank you for the wonderful care my brother received whilst living at Bowerfield Court. He really felt at home and loved getting to know you all and hearing about your families.

Acorn's Entertainment
We had an entertainer in to sing for us last week, he sang from the pod and everyone had a wonderful time. We've never had so many dancers on the floor and needless to say, everyone slept well that night, including the staff.
Stroke Awareness Month
May is Stroke Awareness Month and everyone at Bowerfield Court is helping to raise both money and awareness. We have made purple ribbons for both residents and staff to wear, along with displaying large ribbons in our lobby and on each floor of our home. Ribbons are available for free for any visitor to our home and are to be found in our lobby along side bags of sweets that are for sale. All money raised will be donated to the Stroke Association at the end of the month.
Happy Hour
Today we enjoyed happy hour with our friends of the home, with music, wine and some favourite snacks. We had a little dance too, just what we needed for a Friday afternoon.
