Come Dine With Me
Bowerfield House and our sister home The Belvedere linked up to do a come dine with me event. Our theme was royalty so we wore cut out face masks and got the Union Jack flags out. We also wrote the Queen a birthday card as its her official birthday next week, Happy Birthday Your Majesty. Bowerfield House residents Pat, Jenny and Geoffrey prepped all food and I drove down to The Belvedere to drop the food off where the activity coordinator Katie cooked it.
Mardi Gras Decorations
Residents helped make colourful Mardi Gras shakers from empty Pringles tubes, cardboard rolls and paper towel tubes. They were decorated with free wallpaper samples, coloured feathers, flowers, butterflies and beads. They were then filled with dried rice. Betty helped to make giant colourful tissue papers flowers for display at the party.
Amber Court's Preparations
The backdrop was created by activities coordinator Marianne, residents helped to put up the balloons and decorations. The cake was made by one of our carers in the company colours. Marianne decorated it with a Mardi Gras Mask, feathers, flowers, butterflies and baubles.
Mardi Gras Masks
Margaret helped to paint and decorate Mardi Gras Masks for the party.
National Milkshake Day
What a perfect day to celebrate national milkshake day by making our own in the sunshine.
Card Of Thanks
Clarendon Court is a credit to the excellent management you both provide. All the staff have treated M with the dignity and respect he deserves. They have also been very helpful to me, it has been a very difficult time for me having to accept that I couldn't have him home because of his mobility issues. I can manage all other issues but with my spinal problem he wouldn't have been safe. It was lovely to be greeted by smiles and jokes.
Rachel, Helen, Karen, Hollie and Charley, many thanks for all your help given to me whilst I have been visiting M at Clarendon Court.
Accordion Entertainer
Hope Green were treated to a morning of toe tapping and hand clapping music from a local accordion entertainer and it was a roaring success. Residents and staff couldn't resist getting involved and were even up dancing which was wonderful to be a part of. Live music plays a wonderful role in stimulation and lifting mood but it was also great to see how it brought everyone together in dance, whether that was on our feet or in our armchairs! Thank you to our entertainer for a wonderful time, we're hoping you'll visit us again soon.
Blue and Muffin
Blue and Muffin are beautiful pets who live at Deepdene. They bring so much pleasure to everyone who lives and works at Deepdene, especially when they choose to join in with the activities.
Andy T Is Back!
Andy T is back! Andy has been entertaining all those who live and work at Brunel House for the last 6 years. We used to enjoy his company regularly as he was so popular and we are all so happy he is now back. The reaction when he arrived said it all.
African Day
25th May was Africa Day and we celebrated in style. From traditional costumes and food, to dancing, games and African music. We had a great time.
