Hot Weather at Hope Green

It's Hot Hot Hot - the arrival of hot weather at Hope Green brought some lovely surprises of ice lolly deliveries and iced lemonade. Always conscious of keeping hydrated, we were enjoying some refreshing treats together whilst chatting about our favourite types of summer holidays. We even created our own display to celebrate the arrival of the summer sunshine and enjoyed the shade of the garden, watching the birds enjoying their feeding station which we had refilled with plenty of water too.

Queen's Birthday

We celebrated the Queen's official birthday, we had a wonderful afternoon. We had some facts about the Queen which the residents loved to read about and some lovely pictures of the Queen. I also had a face mask of the Queen which went down great.

Congratulations Alexandra

Congratulations to Alexandra Mora who has recently completed the Care Practitioner programme.

Alexandra is looking forward to continuing her career at Kents Hill and gain further clinical skills. To celebrate her achievement, she was presented with this lovely hamper from our Head Office training and development team.

Well done Alexandra from all of the staff and residents at Kents Hill

Euro Football 2021

Bowerfield House had a lovely morning designing our wall art of a football pitch with all the countries flags placed around the football pitch, it's displayed lovely in our lounge. We talked about all the different countries all around the world (which is our theme this month) and about football and who we think will win, we all agreed England to win, so come on boys, you can do it!

Celebrations at Alexandra Court

At Alexandra Court we celebrated the Queen's official birthday and National Gin and Tonic Day. Residents Gwen and Dorothy joined in and enjoyed the afternoon.

Care Practitioner Completion

This is Kim Jenkins from Barnes Court. Kim started the programme right before the pandemic. Despite the obstacles due to her dedication she has managed to complete the Care Practitioner programme.

National Carers Week at Parkview

It's National Carers Week and here at Parkview House we have been showing our appreciation and celebrating carers near and far, valuing their input and impact that they make on peoples lives. We want you to know we love and appreciate you all.

Fruit Salad

The residents and I spent the morning making our summer fruit salad which we all later enjoyed eating in the garden listening to some lovely music. We used a variety of fruits which we peeled, cut and grated into the salad. The aroma of the fruits encouraged other residents to come over and join in our activity.

Homemade Lemonade

Jane and I made homemade lemonade for the residents ready for our afternoon treat which we enjoyed with some delicious cake. We firstly made our base from water, sugar and honey, we then squeezed and grated our lemons and this was added to our base to create a lovely still lemonade.

Flower Pots and Baskets

Our residents have been busy potting bedding plants and planting seeds for our hanging baskets and pots. The baskets and pots are now in the garden and coming along nicely with the sunshine. The residents have been sat out enjoying looking and admiring the beautiful colours.
