Regional Director, Kier Dungo celebrates academic achievements

We’re delighted to share that Kier Dungo, Regional Director at MMCG, has successfully completed his first 2 modules for Global Leadership & Management, gaining some of the highest grades in his cohort.

Kier was recently promoted from Home Manager to Regional Director after Buckingham House won Care Home of the Year at the Maria Mallaband Care Group and Countrywide Care Homes Annual Care Awards.

Carers Appreciation Day

For the first time, we introduced the inaugural MMCG Carers Appreciation Day, for which we celebrated all of our amazing carers that play a vital role in ensuring each of our homes is a warm and welcoming place to live in.

We were so excited to be able to say a proper thank you for their hard work and dedication, especially with the events of the last few years still fresh in our minds.

Superhero Tributes at Park Springs

One of our more artistic nurses, Lynn Bell, gave her colleagues a superhero-style boost by depicting them all in an amazing ‘caped-crusader’ gallery inspired by the collective spirit and superhuman effort seen from the team throughout the pandemic. Our Motherwell home has had smiles all around since her amazing artworks were installed throughout the home, bringing joy to all that see them.

Cowboy Party

Our Cowboy Party at Allingham House was a brilliant day for both staff and residents. The barbecue was great and the kitchen staff were amazing!! Staff and residents enjoyed, burgers, sausages and salad, drinks were also provided. Our team also came in fancy dress just to make it a bit more special, yeeha!

Memory Boxes

What a great time we had at Hope Green putting together Memory Boxes. As we spent time exploring things that were important to us, memories came flooding into our minds and conversations flowed too. Our boxes were filled with items that reflected special places, special moments and roles that we had played in our lives. We also found ourselves searching the internet together to find things that had been important to us and the best one by far was a 3minute clip of a little day trip boat in Scarborough which one of our residents had enjoyed every year on her holiday.

Buddleia & Butterflies

As the summer draws to a close at Hope Green we decided to spend some time watching and listening in the garden. We were amazed by the number of beautiful butterflies visiting the last of the Buddleia blooms and we sat quietly appreciating the peacefulness, listening to the sounds, picking the last of the flowers, smelling the scents and touching the various textures of the leaves. The 'feel good' factor of surrounding ourselves with nature was very much enjoyed by us all.

Bank Holiday Fun

Our bank holiday theme was a French Fun Day, we had games and music dressing up for the part, and lots of cheese, wine and french fancy cakes. A great day had by all.

Traditional Dances

Here's our Amber Court staff, Hannah, Camille and Alice who entertained our residents with the Traditional Filipino"Tinikling" (bamboo dance) and the "Pandango sa ilaw" (Candle dance).

Designing Our Backdrop

Our talented staff and residents put efforts on our upcoming event even our coconut trees backdrop was handmade. Look how busy they are! And how fantastic our backdrop is! You can’t resist to take photos with it.

Memory Box

One of our residents, alongside the activity staff, has made a memory box. In the memory box contained items that Oliver felt was personal to him but also things that gave us an insight to Oliver's life and past.
