Christmas Tree Decorating at Brunel
The 1st December meant only one thing......tree dressing!
We sang and danced to festive tunes and we even had a little count down before doing the light switch on.
Dementia Unit Makeover
It’s not just Christmas decorations coming to the home. We’ve also had some work done in the Yohden Lodge Dementia unit. Our new Titanic themed dining room for our residents. They love it and so do we.
Elf Day at Yohden
We had a lovely day in Yohden for elf day. We had a tombola, and the residents were excited to win prizes. We had sing along and watched the movie elf. We raised £155 for Alzheimer from the home.
Thank you to our lovely staff & amazing families for the donations and home manager Hayley & deputy manager Kelly for putting up our 7th tree in the Lodge as well as staff and residents for creating our beautiful tree in Reception.
Elf Day at Willowdene
We had a lovely day at Willowdene for Elf Day. The staff got dressed up to surprise the residents and created such a giggle with their costumes. We enjoyed some lovely cup cakes and tea brought to us by our team of elves before they headed off into the winter night back to the North Pole (or at least homes in the Northeast).
Remembrance Day
Rose Lodge Remembers.... Our fallen soldiers on the battlefield, the men who returned to their loved ones and the women folk left at home or working in the factories. Rose Lodge always celebrates Remembrance Day, and this year was no different.
Christmas Wreaths
Our Christmas elves have been creating gorgeous Christmas Wreaths at the home. Our lifestyle coordinator, Stacey used to be a florist and has been helping the residents create wonderful Christmas gifts for families and friends. To see the finished product, have a look at our Facebook page.
Children In Need at Field View
We were delighted to celebrate Children in Need at the home in November and the residents had a lovely time hosting our inhouse coffee morning for residents and staff.
Children In Need at Earsdon
We are a firm believer that charity begins at home and here at Earsdon Grange the staff and residents all dressed up for children in need to raise money for this wonderful charity. We had lots of fun during the day and enjoyed some puzzles and home baking.
Welcome Pots
One of our wonderful residents, Dennis, designed, painted and planted these gorgeous pots for our home manager, Kelly, as a thank you.
Dennis wants to make lots more to make the entrance to Astor beautiful for visitors to the home.
We’ve arrived in Lapland !
Congratulations to everyone who participated in the River View Care Centre challenge to cycle from Tilehurst to Lapland in support of The Alzheimer’s Society ‘Elf Day’ taking place today Friday 3 December.
