A visit from Little Gems Childcare

This week Claremont Manor welcomed 'Little Gems Childcare' into their home. Gemma, Sarah and the 6 little ones were a joy and the people living at Claremont Manor adored spending time with them. Together they painted pebbles and enjoyed some refreshments. Social connections across generations, through meaningful and engaged activities, can help to tackle feelings of loneliness, social isolation and improve wellbeing. They are looking forward to seeing them again soon and strengthening those connections!

Philippines Day

Rosedale Care Home celebrated Philippines Day this week as part of the Celebrating Cultures programme. The people living at Rosedale had a great time learning more of the history, culture, religions and most of all getting to taste some delicious Filipino food. A big thank you to the dedicated staff who made the occasion more special and fun for all!

English Symphony Orchestra

Some of the people living at Windsor Court took a short minibus ride up the hill to The Priory last week to see members of the English Symphony Orchestra wind section perform a relaxed concert, as part of the Elgar Festival. Last Sunday, Claremont Manor made a memorable impression at the highly anticipated Eat Festival in Dawlish. The event, which drew food enthusiasts from near and far, saw our complimentary sweet and savoury snacks become the talk of the day. Our Head Chef Connor made a delicious Apple and Pear Chutney, served with cheese and biscuits, alongside Honeycomb Crunchie Tiffin’s and Blondies and Brownies. Festivalgoers couldn’t get enough of our carefully curated treats, which were praised for their exquisite taste and quality.

A day out in Manchester

Some of the ladies from Manorhey had the chance to pay Manchester city centre a visit this week. They had a trip to Costa coffee for a hot brew and had a lovely chat about their childhoods growing up in Manchester. They then headed off to St Peter’s square to the central library to look at the exhibitions where they saw some familiar Mancunian faces. The ladies finished the day off with a concert at the Bridgewater Hall and some delicious scones.
Thank you to Manorhey's Dementia ambassador (Grace) and lifestyle (Areeba) for such a great day out.

Just Bowl in the garden

Chartwell Manor had a great game of Just Bowl outside in the sun this week. Everyone enjoyed ice cream and played very well, especially our winner Bill. We can't wait for our next outdoor game...

Trip to the park

A few ladies from Parksprings Care Home enjoyed a great day out at Strathclyde park. They enjoyed a trip out in their minibus and visited the loch with the ducks. Some of the ladies remembered the park before the loch was built and spoke about all the good all times they had there.
