Valentines Day at Knights Court

This year Knights Court celebrated Valentines Day 2022 with amore ❤

Everyone living us, along with staff wholeheartedly engaged in this annual festival to celebrate romantic love, friendship and admiration. Many of us also sent messages of love and affection to our partners, family and friends.

International Women’s Day

Yesterday we recognised International Women’s Day. At River View we have a team of great men working and living here, but we also have some amazing women too. The ladies from the kitchen to the laundry, lifestyle team, domestic staff , carers, nurses and the management team, all gel and work together to look after the amazing ladies that live here at River View.

World Book Day at Brunel House!

We celebrated World Book Day by dressing up as our favourite literary characters.

Everyone got together and did the conga down the corridors which was followed by a quiz and even more dancing.

St David's Day

The residents enjoyed creating beautiful Daffodil Flower Arrangements to celebrate St. David's Day, the perfect opportunity for the residents to let their imagination run free and be creative, putting a splash of colour in our dining room tables.

Competition and Fun

Bowerfield House loves a good competition, we had a biscuit dunking competition to see which biscuit was the toughest. We all got involved, every one had a different theory.

This competition brought out everyone's competitive side, we laughed and it was lovely to see everyone get involved.

The biscuits we had were rich teas, hob nobs, digestives and ginger biscuits. We dunked each one for 10 seconds and rich tea was our winner! Then we all enjoyed eating the rest of the biscuits with a pot of tea.

Hope Green's Gardening Club

The weather might be cold, wet and windy outside but our Gardening Club at Hope Green continues by 'bringing the outside in'. We care about connecting to nature, and providing our residents the opportunity to get involved whatever the weather and whatever the season. Whilst we planted seeds together residents noticed the smells and textures which gave us a sense of 'wellbeing' and 'calm' regardless of the wind and even hail outside. Perusing a selection of gardening books gave us the chance to discuss and plan for Spring.

Baking

We just love baking at Troutbeck Care Home, we chatted about the baking we have done with our families and how children also love baking. Baking triggers ,memories, encourages creativity and appetite, maintains a sense of independence and keeps us social, we have plenty of ideas for the coming months. Happy Baking!

International Women's Day 2022

At Hope Green women gathered together to chat, eat chocolate, walk in the spring sunshine, listen to music and read. The sunshine shone through the windows and there was a real air of hope and togetherness. In recognition of current events in our world the women of Hope Green tied yellow and blue ribbons on the display in the entrance of the home and visitors and staff were invited to join in too. This was a symbol of our togetherness with women in our world who are currently facing great hardship, especially the women and girls of Ukraine.

Pamper Session at The Hawthorns

We had a lovely pamper session yesterday. So many of our lovely ladies had their nails painted, trimmed and filed. They had a great time chatting like we were all in a salon and admiring everyone's colour choice. One of the residents chose to have colours to show support for Ukraine which all the staff and residents loved.

Around The World in Chip Butties

We decided to be creative and innovative choosing a theme, and we chose, Around the World in Chip Butties.
