Easter Bonnet Competition

Here at Howgate we had a fun day as we held an Easter Bonnet competition, Nikkie and her glamorous assistant took a while to come to the decision of who deserves the win. Well done all who took part and Happy Easter from Howgate!

Rock Painting

Our craft club is always looking at different ways of being creative and we were delighted with the results of our Rock Painting. Residents decided they would like to use red white and blue colours so the rocks could be used throughout the year in the celebrations of the Queens Platinum Jubilee. Once the varnish had fully dried we were out in the garden to place them by our lovely newly planted tree and commemorative plaque. They look great!

Ladies Day

The residents enjoyed many different activities to celebrate one of the most important days at the Grand National, Ladies Day. Staff and residents joined together to create beautiful hats that matched their own clothes, making them look even more elegant while they were enjoying their favourites snacks and drinks watching the races.

A delightful experience !!!

Bowls

We had a very competitive game of Bowls here at The Westbourne

Plant A Tree for The Queens Jubilee Canopy

The sun shone and the gardens were looking beautifully decorated with bunting and flags as we spent the morning together celebrating this wonderful initiative. Residents and staff enjoyed scones with jam and cream with cups of tea whilst watching the tree being planted and the special commemorative plaque being put into place. Many marvelled at the years of service to our country by our Queen and had memories to share of Royal events that were special to them. We're looking forward to more events over the next few months to celebrate this special year for our Queen.

Good Friday Reflections

It was important to us to provide a time of Reflections on Good Friday with Easter Hymns and words of contemplation so we combined this with our Painting Club. It was great to see everyone enjoying the relaxing atmosphere, with residents singing along to familiar hymns whilst painting. Music can often help to provide a connection and this was evident in this session, with residents commenting that it helped them to focus on their paintings too.

Easter at Bowerfield Court

We started the Easter weekend with decorating on Thursday. Friday we had entertainment and decorated Easter eggs. The Easter bunny snuck in to deliver chocolate bunnies a fun couple of days!

Easter Eggs

On Good Friday all resident enjoyed an Easter egg on behalf of the home.
