In the afternoon, our residents played dominoes against us, our resident won the match.

There was a lot of excitement at Hope Green this week as our own sweet shop was placed within our home. Residents enjoyed short walks together to choose their favourite sweets and chocolates and it was great to hear conversations of childhood treats. What a lovely addition to our home, bringing smiles all round.

For this months regional tea room competition and with the Platinum Jubilee celebrations around the corner, Birth Heath Lodge decided to show our patriotism by creating a London inspired Tea room.

The residents helped create the city atmosphere with an enormous Big Ben replica with a real clock face. Pictures of London Monuments, famous buildings and London born celebrities filled the walls.

The Queen's Green Canopy is an initiative running nationwide to encourage people to plant a tree to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee. We are blessed with a garden full of

beautiful trees, but we thought this would be a great opportunity to start planting in the front of the home where we have plenty of space. But we couldn’t stop there…

In celebration of the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, we will be planting these seeds this week 

Residents, staff and families, joined together in a Fundraising Coffee Morning and Afternoon BBQ, a whole day of celebrations to raise money for Dementia UK and Alzheimer's Society.

We raised the Amazing amount of £580.

I would like to thank especially kitchen staff for providing the food and beverages and the families, relatives and members of the community, who joined us to this celebration and raise money to support families living with dementia.

Yesterday our lovely resident's decided on making a Crown for the Jubilee celebrations.

On crafty Thursday we were painting rocks for the lovely garden outside great fun was had by all 😀☀️

At Ashfield we have started a new activity, juggling classes. This took place after watching the Greatest Showman movie 🍿😀😀💕

It was a wine themed day for us at The Hawthorns as we celebrated National Wine Week.  We talk about our favourite wines, about how wines were made all around the world and then finished with some drawing of wine bottles.  It was really enjoyed by the people who took part.
