Nurses Day at River View

Congratulations and thank you to all the nurses out there. You do a brilliant challenging role. River View thanked their current nurses as well as our own 98 year old legend of a lady who started her nursing career in the UK at The Royal Berkshire Hospital. Thank you for all your service 🙏

Afternoon Singalong

Today at Kings Court we had a local entertainer come to sing for everyone living with us. With a great selection of familiar songs to sing along and dance too, everyone had a wonderfully happy afternoon

BY ROYAL APPOINTMENT

A very special visitor arrived to conclude our Platinum Jubilee celebrations in the shape of our Lifestyle Coordinator - Queen Raj!👑

Ladies Day Comes to River View

Whilst Ladies Day at Royal Ascot was opened by HRH Queen Elizabeth, River View Ladies Day was opened by our very own HM Lizzy Gondo !

We had a lovely garden party with afternoon tea and a BBQ which everyone really enjoyed. All ladies and gents made a real effort to dress for the occasion wearing wonderful decorative hats.

Keith, our entertainer, sung and played well known tunes which got many people up dancing and singing along to. For those who could not get out into the garden, the party was taken to them. We all really enjoyed the day.

Cake Decorating

Following on from the #jubilee celebrations, and conversations, it has come to light that River View Care Home has some remarkable

Boonies Pet Therapy

River View were really excited and absolutely delighted to recently be able to welcome Boonies Pet Therapy.

A selection of animals were brought along to meet the people living with us, the small animals were presented in baskets so no claws or handling were involved. Oh my goodness - the faces from our staff and residents were amazing. Faces were lit up with smiles along with one lady singing to all the animals one by one. The bleating noises from the lambs could be heard as they walked up the corridors, visiting people’s rooms which started many a conversation.

Queen's Birthday Celebrations

June 11th marked HRM The Queens official birthday. We thought it only essential to recognise this celebration around the home with the people who live at River View. On this day we had 3 birthday celebrations so the birthday cakes were truly well received along with the party celebrations inside.

Wordy Wednesday

Wordy Wednesday brought a challenge to Doreen this week as she chose a kitchen utensil word search. Doreen conferred with her friends for spotting stubborn words but eventually wasn't defeated! Well done!

Game Show Fun

Meet our glamorous assistants Bev and Margaret.

When asking for 2 volunteer's the ladies were more than willing to take centre stage.

Spurring our residents on ,a lovely fun Game show took place yesterday.

Thank you ladies.

Out and About

The people living with us enjoy getting ‘Out & about’ at some time every day (weather permitting) in the vast grounds of Gateford Hill. Everyone enjoyed the fresh air, scenery and nature.  Nicola, one of our lifestyle co-ordinators, writes the residents a poem for them to keep using the words they have expressed while enjoying being outside which is such a special and thoughtful thing to do.
