Yorkshire Day

We celebrated "Yorkshire Day" at the home by creating some bunting personalised for each person.  We also looked at some old books of Yorkshire to talk all about it.

World Emoji Day

The people living with us had a great time celebrating 'world emoji day' and making some great emojis and even creating their own new ones.

XFactor Singer Visits

We had a visit from our lovely singer Alan turner, Alan was in the XFactor and even went to Simon Cowells house in  Barbados in 2008. It is a great pleasure to have him visit us regularly and we all look forward to him coming. There was lots of Singing and Dancing on the lawns at the home.

Coffee and Walk

Two people who live with us enjoyed a stroll around the grounds today in the sun. It is so lovely to have so much land for people to explore. They had a pleasant afternoon finishing it all off with refreshments and a nice chat.

Gardening Club

At our Gardening Club this week , we decided to do some weeding and put some new plants in.  The people living with us wanted more colour in the garden and so today we did just that. Everyone got involved and worked hard , after all their hard they enjoyed refreshments in the garden and now we must remember to water them every day .

Creative Flower Arranging

Some of the people living with us at Brunel enjoyed a flower arranging session recently. As well as buying some really colourful pretty flowers for the activity, we also picked some from our own gardens . It was a great way to not only express everyone’s creativity, but it also made our home smell wonderful.

Delicious Desserts at Monread

Our Carte D’or competition was fantastic. Chef Dom made some beautiful desserts using theses flavoursome mousses. Fingers crossed we win, but if not we enjoyed an afternoon of delicious flavours.

International Cheese and Wine Day at Monread

We celebrated International Cheese and Wine Day at Monread with a selection of our favourite wines, paired with the perfect combination of cheese and grapes - it went down a treat with the people living with us and proved to be a delicious afternoon.

River View Watches The Women's Euros

River View Care Centre got behind the England Ladies Football Team this weekend to wish them luck for Sundays Final.  And wow!! congratulations and thank you for making history.     

River View Care Centre is the home for 2 gents professional football players, and a few semi pro' players.   When the final score hit 2-1 the roar could have lifted the roof.  #Lionesses #Euro2022 #CareHomeActivities

Owl Visit

This week Birch Heath Lodge welcomed Ian and Elaine from Lower Moss Wood Sanctuary. We were treated to a informative talk on the sanctuary and the opportunity to meet some of the Stunning Owls. Everyone who participated was mesmerized and the brave were able to stroke the beautiful birds.
