White Rose Lodge Gets Care Home Of The Year
We proudly collected the award for Care Home of the Year at the MMCG and Countrywide Care Awards in Leeds last night. We are so proud to collect this award on behalf of the residents and staff of White Rose Lodge.
The award was presented to us at an amazing awards ceremony in Leeds Armouries by Phil Burgan, Chairman and Founder of Maria Mallaband Care Homes, Susan Jones, People and Development Lead and Comedian Tom Allen. Our team had a wonderful evening and thank you to you all again for voting for them.
We can't wait to bring the award home to Bridlington.

White Rose Lodge Entertainment
At White Rose Lodge, we were lucky to have a new entertainer perform for us after lunch; Stephen Brailsford who is based in Scarborough, sang a selection of hits from the 50s and 60s. He made us all laugh with his jokes and helped us to reminisce with his stories. The residents all praised Stephen very highly and hope that he will return to the home soon

National Sisters Day
We celebrated National Sister’s Day in August and organised an arts and craft session to show our sisters that we love them here at Willowbank. We all made cards for the residents in the home and wrote them a little message which we popped into an envelope ready for Sisters Day on 7th August.

Pottery Making at Manor Park
We had a wonderful afternoon of creativity and socialising and all of the residents involved in this activity enjoyed it so much. A huge thank you to The Little Biscuit Pottery Painting Studio who came along to the home to help is create our masterpieces and then return them all after they have been in the kiln.

Maria The Bear
Minster Grange has adopted a lovely little Bear called Maria. Maria is going on lots of adventures with different children in York to share with our residents. The children are writing about their adventures, drawing pictures and taking photos of their fun together in Maria’s Journal so the residents can join in the fun and see what they all get up to. Our 1st children are Ella-Rose, Libby and Keegan. Maria the bear walked Ella-Rose home from school, they met up with Libby and Keegan who took Maria to a fountain to meet Maria’s Bear cousin who was made of grass!

Pureed Meals
At Corinthian House the chef and team provide different food daily and some of the meals that people require are pureed. Here is an example of some of the pureed meals piped to make the food look more attractive for those individuals that have trouble with swallowing or chewing food.
Our delicious shepherd's pie with green beans.

Croft House Celebrates The Care Awards
We celebrated the annual MMCG/Countrywide Care awards at the home in July with a buffet for the staff to enjoy and celebrate our colleagues in the region who were up for awards. We were delighted for everyone who won not only from our region but throughout the company.

Supporting Local Services
Belmont House was supporting the local emergency services in the community during this heatwave by offering cold drinks, ice lollies and ice creams for all emergency services out and about in this hot weather.
We were delighted yesterday when the local fire brigade just popped in for a cold drink on the travels.
