Bird Watching at The Moors

With Christmas behind us we’ve been preparing for spring as best we can despite the snowy days. The residents have loved making their own bird feeders to go outside their windows so we can get bird watching!

The Dignity Daisy

It is world dignity day on February 1st. Our residents at Cavendish Court enjoyed spending time discussing what dignity meant to them. We then displayed these so all staff can be reminded of what is important to each resident. The little things matter!

A New Year At Bowerfield House

Its been a busy new year at Bowerfield House. We planted our bulbs ready to enjoy the blooming flowers later on in the year. We enjoyed Burns Night and the most amazing Scottish meals - haggis, neeps and tatties - cooked by our chef Matt. The Big Garden Birdwatch with the RSBP showed us just how many beautiful birds visit our garden - sparrows, black birds and blue tits. We loved watching them feed from our newly built and painted bird table. We celebrated two January birthdays - Happy Birthday to both Lorna and John!

Thank You!

The management and staff at Knights Court Nursing home were truly humbled and touched by the kind gesture of a former relative of residents that had used our services several years ago. We were truly honoured to have created a strong everlasting impact on someone and touched deeply when a former relative popped into our care home to say thanks by gifting us this Masterpiece ‘Winter Village’ cake for the staff and residents at Knights Court Nursing home who performed such a great job of looking after her late Mum and Dad.

The January Challenge

Residents at Thorntree Mews taking part in The January Challenge, 15-20 minutes everyday through January. Residents feeling great and enjoying the morning routine. Certificates for all who complete.

Flowers

One of our residents was sent some beautiful daffodils as a gift. She was thrilled when she opened the box, the beautiful scent of the daffodils and the vibrant colours. We sat together and arranged them in the vases. She was so pleased to have been sent such a beautiful gift.

Birthday Celebrations

Last week we had the pleasure and privilege to celebrate another birthday! We celebrated the birthday of our youngest resident, who as you can see from her cake turned 21 (again) on Friday! We had a fabulous day celebrating and look forward to celebrating many more!

Burns Night

We celebrated Burns Night with plenty of tartan and Tam O Shanter hats. Along with decorating cupcakes with icing and edible Scottish cupcake toppers, we also enjoyed an amazing classic Scottish meal of haggis, neeps and tatties with whiskey gravy followed by a chocolate pudding with chocolate and whiskey custard. To finish off we enjoyed a Scottish colloquial quiz called 'Oh Aye the Noo' from Support for Care by Relish, where residents had to guess the meaning of Scottish words. Everyone's favourite was most definitely 'There's a moose in my hoose'!

Pamper Session

The ladies thoroughly enjoyed their pamper session. They said they felt like a million dollars after having their hair, nails and make up done. We all agreed that they looked like a million dollars too.

Donation

The residents of The Belvedere have each received this lovely donation from Shrimad Rajchandra Love and Care. They have enjoyed snuggling into their fluffy scarves. Thank you!
