Christmas at The Wharf
Christmas has arrived at The Wharf and we are looking forward to welcoming our residents friends & families over the festive season.
Christmas Preparations
Christmas preparations were in full swing at Furze Hill Lodge in November and the residents enjoyed wrapping presents and preparing the decorations for our tree. Lloyd our lifestyle manager had Xmas music playing in the background to get everyone in the Christmas spirit, warm mince pies were on offer as a treat for all their hard work!
Christmas Tree Decorating
Our residents have had a lovely afternoon decorating the Christmas tree in another of our lounges today. It triggered lots of lovely memories for them from when they used to decorate their own homes at Christmas time over the years. Conversation flowed and everyone enjoyed refreshments. We played Christmas music, and everyone enjoyed the festive atmosphere.
Elf Day
We had a lovely day on Friday celebrating Elf day with a family and friends, playing games and quizzes.
More Movement
More movement was Thursday fun at Chartwell Manor this week. One of our lovely ladies who live with us used to be a PE teacher - so she led the class this morning. 'More' is Maria Mallaband's Lifestyle Programme which allows us to support our residents in doing...More...😊
Cocktail Tasting Event
Anyone for cocktails?? Last night we held a Cocktail Tasting Event at Chartwell Manor. Our guests were treated to tasters of Franky's signature cocktails and were given a score card to rate each one...trouble was they were all so good...we couldn't decide!
Halloween Event at Chartwell Manor
We had a spooktacular time this week at Chartwell Manor for our first Halloween event. Thank you to Bea and Carol in our Lifestyle Team and our very talented Chef, Amanda for the truly delicious cupcakes.
Who Said Cake???
Diane and Jacqui got stuck in to making some cupcakes and were thoroughly enjoyed by all. Our Lifestyle Team are passionate about meaningful activities to support independence and cooking and baking will be high up on the weekly programme.
Pamper Session
Diane was treated to a mini pamper session at Chartwell Manor Spa and had a full manicure. Diane used to love going to the beauticians to have her nails painted – we are so lucky to have such a beautiful spa for our residents to use.
Making Soup
Creating meaningful activities that support independence for the people that live with us is so important. The lifestyle team worked with the catering team to provide an opportunity for people to make their own supper. Everyone had a great time cutting up vegetables for soup and making the homemade bread which was thoroughly enjoyed by all in the evening.
