Garden Make Over
Bowerfield House has started our garden make over. We would like to thank John, one of our residents husband, for helping us cut down all the bushes so we can paint the fence. Myself, Megan and Rosie helped out too by painting the fence a lovely sky blue, it was great team work. It will take some weeks to complete but we will have a lovely area to sit in and enjoy our garden. Lets hope the sunshine returns so we can all get out and enjoy the garden!
Alzheimer's Month
Bowerfield House and Bowerfield Court proudly wore our purple ribbon to support Alzheimer's sociality month . World Alzheimer's Day took place on 21st September and is part of world Alzheimer's month. World Alzheimer's Day is a global opportunity to raise awareness around, educate, encourage, support and de mystify dementia.
Trip To Chester Zoo
Bowerfield House and Bowerfield Court had a fantastic day out at Chester Zoo. The coach set of at 10am and returned home at 5.15pm. We enjoyed a fun full day at Chester Zoo, we walked round the zoo looking at all the animals, our favourites were the tigers, lions and elephants. Jenny and Joan had their faces painted as beautiful butterflies.
Bowerfield House Macmillan Coffee Morning
Bowerfield House had a great morning at our Macmillan Coffee Morning, we had lots of cakes and biscuits and we raised a fantastic £30.47. We all enjoyed a slice of cake and a cup of tea while supporting a good cause, we also enjoyed live entertainment by our singer Sam, which we all enjoyed and the residents all sang along. Throughout the day there was lots of laughing, singing and smiles all round, it was lovely to see the residents joining in singing. We had a very busy but fun week at Bowerfield House.
Baking Therapy Day
Bowerfield House had a full day of fun baking gingerbread biscuits and cookies earlier this month. A few residents took turns in mixing the gingerbread mixture and we all loved the smell of ginger, some of the residents loved touching the mixture and it bought back lots of happy memories from when they baked cakes. We all talked about all the different cake we loved and enjoy. After the gingerbread biscuits were baked we all enjoyed eating them with a nice pot of tea .

Personalised Walkers
We have had a new project here at Hope Green as we were spending time personalising our walkers. It prompted lots of conversation and excitement too as we encouraged each other to choose items that they like, are important to them, or represent them in some way. We've already noticed that it's really helping everyone to easily identify their own walker and encouraging everyone to use them too. Proven to reduce the risk of falls it has to be a 'win win' project.
