Willowdene Celebrates Resident Birthday

Here at Willowdene Care Home on Lizards Lane in Sedgefield we were delighted to celebrate one of our resident's birthdays this week.  Ruth, was delighted to have a socially distanced visit from her family and catch up and enjoy some cake with them. We hope you had a brilliant birthday Ruth.

The start of family visits

At Buckingham House we are excited to start welcoming visits from family and friends after such a long time. We are taking things slowly and to ensure we continue to protect our residents and staff team we are hosting visits in the garden for now.

One of our first visitors sent us a lovely thank you.

"I can not believe I visited! So good to see Ma looking so healthy - & tanned! It was so well done and organised & the gardens look lovely, a wonderful place to meet - thanks so very much everyone."

Rocco's First Birthday

It was Rocco's first birthday and of course we couldn't resist making a fuss of him.

Rocco is a golden Labrador and spends a lot of time at Princess Lodge as he belongs to the home manager Rares. He has been visiting since he was a puppy and has been a source of delight over the past few months with his cheeky attitude and antics. He's a popular member of the Princess Lodge team.

The Invisible Enemy

Thank you to Rose for sending in the lovely poem, The Invisible Enemy by Rose Rodger.

Rose worked at Abingdon Court and has recently left to start a new career. We wish you all the best in your new role.

Social Distancing Visit

Our resident at Bowerfield Court enjoying an outside social distancing visit from his mum. They had a lovely afternoon and it was so nice for them to catch up and see each other.

Live Entertainment at Troutbeck

We have had a variety of entertainers coming to visit us here at Troutbeck, they have been adhering to social distancing and playing to our residents from a safe distance outside the home.

It has been a welcome boost for our residents and lifted everyone spirits including the staff.

We will continue with booking volunteers and now some of our regular entertainers as the summer months mean that we can watch from a safe distance.

The benefits of music have been greatly appreciated by everyone.

Thank You Messages for Troutbeck

We have received many thank you cards recently with kind words. It is lovely to read the lovely comments thank you very much from all at Troutbeck it is appreciated. Here are a couple of the lovely letters we received in May.

To all the staff at the Troutbeck, We as a family want to day a big thank  for all you do everyday and never more so than at this time. It is a hard job we know and currently even harder. So our love and best wishes are sent to  each and everyone of you for doing a fantastic job." Family of Resident

Royal Visitors at Wyndham Hall

The Queen's birthday may well be a lot quieter than usual but we will still be celebrating in style at Wyndham Hall.

Some of the staff put Royal face masks on to celebrate.

We have opened our doors to one visitor, Reedus.

Reedus is an 18 month black Labrador who belongs to Stacey, one of our activities co-coordinators. Reedus is part of the team at Brunel House and has been visiting since he was 3 months old. He brings lots of love and really lifts everyone's spirits.

He's a handsome devil and he knows it!

Teesside Family Foundation
