Smoothie Station

During the hot weather we like to think of creative ways to keep the people that live with us cool so we made a smoothie station this was enjoyed by all

Reminiscence Cafe

Over the past few Mondays we have created a Reminiscence café.  The people living with us can come enjoy refreshments and snacks and talk about a specific topic. This weeks topic was beach days and the experiences that we had. We spoke about days at the beach that we remembered with our families. One of the ladies that lives with us her daughter joined us for the session which was lovely to hear her memories too.

Arts and Crafts

People living with us picked out an animal that they wanted to paint, each animal had pieces that needed to be painted separately.  Once the paint was dry , we then had to fix them together to make up our animals.  We got quite messy but we did not mind as the Owls, Swans, Birds, Ducks and Peacocks that were made were amazing.

Just Bowl

We were delighted to receive our Just Bowl kit to the home and everyone was so excited to get involved.  There were so great scores and we are looking forward to trying to beat them next time.

Carnival Time...

With the sun shining we wanted to celebrate the summer by hosting our own carnival complete with steel band.  It was such a lovely afternoon which was thoroughly enjoyed by all.

Parklife Aylesbury

A team from Chartwell Manor Care Home joined the community of Aylesbury on Saturday 27th August for Parklife, a free annual event hosted and organised by Aylesbury Town Council.  We held a traditional tombola and raised £100 for Emmett’s Genies, one of Aylesbury Town Mayor, Cllr Tim Dixon’s, chosen charities.  Emmett’s Genies is a small, local charity, set up following Emmett’s cancer diagnosis at the age of 2 ½ years.  The main aim of the charity is to raise enough funds to build a centre in the UK, similar to the one Emmett visited in America funded by Make

Happy Birthday Hilda

Earlier this week we were very lucky to celebrate a very special birthday with our lovely resident Hilda who turned 102! We all would like to wish a very happy birthday to Hilda!

Welcome to the Team

We would all like to say a huge welcome to Simona, our new nurse completed her probation today. Another successful addition to Kingsbury team.

Welcome to Lloyd

A warm welcome to Lloyd Wint our new activities manager who is doing a great job here at Furze Hill Lodge.
He brought in a 1950’s scrapbook full of products and events.  I could hear laughter and the cracking of jokes as he went through each page. Such great memorabilia, the residents loved it.

Weekly Baking Club

Every week we have a baking club where we create different treats.  This week we all decided to make chocolate rice krispies  cakes for everyone to enjoy with their afternoon tea.
