An Update From Appletree Court
We miss our visitors but during this time we are keeping in touch in what ever way we can and we have adapted and learnt new skills.
We have rediscovered the art of letter writing and regularly write letters to our loved ones and we look forward to receiving the replies.
Technology is amazing that we can see and chat with family and friends on what looks like a little television.
The community continue to be caring, sending in little parcels, together with other gifts, donations and letters. We appreciate them all.
International Nurses Day at Parksprings

Thank You Letter
We received a lovely thank you letter this week.
"I`d like everyone at Hope Green to know how immensely grateful I am for everything that you have all done to ensure that my mother`s last years were healthy and happy.
Despite me living so far away, and only having been able to visit the North of England once or twice a year, I can remember on my every single visit to Hope Green being aware of the hard work, patience, kindness and concern exhibited by each and every one of the staff .
Dinner Time
A huge thank you to everyone at local Putney based catering company Dinner Ladies, who have been fundraising via Just Giving to provide meals for front line workers
Ashmead was lucky enough to be amongst the local care homes who received a delivery of individual food portions and drinks which was really appreciated.. The food was delicious, and we can’t thank you enough for thinking about all of us working on the front line in the local care homes and hospitals during this challenging time.
Batley Hall's Mobile Shop
Home shopping at Batley Hall has taken on a new meaning with the introduction of the homes new mobile shop. Lots of goodies for residents and staff to enjoy on a daily basis.
100th Birthday Celebrations
Howgate House's resident centenarian Selina Forrest celebrated her 100th birthday on 29th April. A lovely birthday party was enjoyed by staff and residents .
Selina’s family sang Happy Birthday in the homes car park observing social distancing and expressed so much love for Selina who watched from within the care home. Local musician Steven Heath came along and got very wet in the rain as he performed a medley of songs for Selina’s 100th birthday celebrations.
Letter of Appreciation
Thank you to a year 7 student at Poynton High School for sending in a wonderful letter to let everyone at Hope Green know that he is thinking of them and their families.
Stay Home Save Lives
Residents at Wyndham Hall created a wonderful banner to display outside the home.
Mother's Day at Corinthian House
Staff decorated up the conservatory where we put up balloons and banners to celebrate Mother Day with each other, family was unable to come to celebrate with them due to Covid-19 so staff made sure that the day was special.
Gardening at Corinthian House
Residents at Corinthian House enjoyed the afternoon in the garden planting new flowers in the raised flower beds. Everyone loved listening and having a discussion where the different flowers should be planted to make sure they had enough sun light and shade.
Once we had finished planting the flowers in the raised flower beds we went to the entrance of the building where we put up some gorgeous hanging baskets.
