Merry Christmas from Water Royd
Christmas has arrived at Water Royd. We have Covid friendly decorations up in the home, but we still wanted the residents to enjoy a Christmas tree. We thought long and hard about this and decided to utilise our fabulous outdoor space.
Residents can now see there tree from there lounge window view.
Merry Christmas from Water Royd.

A hug from Water Royd
Christmas is a special time for everyone and this year will be very different for so many families. We wanted to send the Relatives of Water Royd a Christmas hug and had these designed by a local firm.
They have now been sent out from the residents to their families and we have had so many wonderful comments come back.

Ashfield Court visiting Booth
We are delighted with our new visitor booth at Ashfield Court. Relatives can now visit the home and stay warm in the winter months with our indoor visiting booth which has a private entrance. We can’t wait to welcome you to the home.

Bonfire Night at Ashfield Court
We had a lovely night celebrating Bonfire Night at Ashfield Court last week enjoying a little tipple with our own Guy Fawkes effigy. We had a lovely time reminiscing about Fireworks nights gone by and the fun we had as kids and also taking our families to the local Bonfire night displays

Remembrance Sunday at Willow Bank
The people living at Willow Bank made banners and poppies to decorate the home for Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day. Everyone were very moved when watching the remembrance service and those that could stood for the two minute silence. There were tears in the eyes of residents and staff as they remembered those who gave their lives.

Staying Positive at White Rose Lodge
With Christmas time fast approaching, residents and staff a like can't wait for some jolly time.
White Rose Lodge like many other homes have put up the decorations early, following the government guidelines. This year has been hard for us all, staff, residents, and families,
Residents have been very strong and acknowledged this hard time and made all the effort to be creative, active, and positive. Supporting one another by spending time together and continuing to smile.

Christmas card crafts
Residents have been getting crafty Christmas style, making some beautiful Christmas cards for loved ones. The amount of creativity we see is just wonderful, great fun and of course getting us in the moos for the festivities that are to come.

Pub night!
We had a lovely evening hosting a pub themed evening for our residents, by turning our bistro into 'The Wharf Inn'. Beers, wine, G&T's or a tipple of choice with a pub food for dinner followed by games of dominoes and cards. They had such a fun evening, so much so we have left our bar just how it was so it can be enjoyed at our residents' leisure.

Science At Brunel House
Science experiments today with orange volcanoes and the residents had great fun.
You slice a large orange in half, remove the centre and put baking powder and food colouring (optional) in to the orange and add white vinegar and watch the magic.

Comfort Month
During comfort month we held a relaxing social event, where staff and residents wore their pyjamas, played relaxing music and enjoyed facials and hand massages with scented aromas and creams, complete with a refreshing glass of wine. As you can imagine some fell asleep!
