The Music man visited Abingdon Court

The Sun had his hat on here at Abingdon Court as we welcomed Laurence The Music Man.

Laurence had us all dancing whether it was on our feet, in our chairs or waving our flags in the air. His song choices were full of memories as we sang along to our favourites. 🕺

For those living with Dementia engaging in music helps develop and maintain relationships with others and improves wellbeing. It can also help in expressing feelings as well as acting as a prompt for reminiscing.

More...Rhythm at Abingdon Court

"Where words fail, music speaks" - Hans Christian Andersen

Here at Abingdon Court we all love to enjoy the benefits of More... Rhythm! 🎼

We recently enjoyed a concert sung by our talented Lifestyle Assistant Katalin which as you can see was huge hit!

Music evokes memories and emotions. It can take us back down memory lane, like the first time we danced with someone, a child's first steps, a family celebration, or other significant life events.

Canal walks

Some of the people living with us at Bowerfield Court had a lovely day out visiting the Canal. They were able to watch the boats and the locals doing some fishing! Then we stopped off at the Red Lion to have a refreshing drink in the sunshine on our way back home.

Ashmead's card from the King and Queen

The Coronation was a very big day for all of us at Ashmead, both staff and residents alike. We wanted to express our excitement and well wishes to King Charles and Queen Camilla so staff and residents got very creative and made a card to send to their majesties. The card was filled with wishes along with a letter from all of us at Ashmead wishing their majesties all the very best. It was a very pleasant surprise for us all when we received a response from their majesties appreciating the card we sent.

Coplands attend the London Borough of Brent Care Awards

Coplands Nursing Home attended the London Borough of Brent Care Awards with our RD Ali Joolia. We are proud to say that across all 12 categories Coplands had staff nominated

However, we did have a winner, Maya Gurung, our receptionist with lots of votes and we want to congratulate her. Our Home Manager Babita wanted to thank all Coplands staff for their hard work and dedication, " their hard work continues to inspire me".

Well done Coplands!

Ancillary day at Chartwell

We celebrated Ancillary Day at Chartwell Manor. The team received gifts and certificates to say a big thanks for all their hard work and support.

Amber Court go watch the Blackpool Illuminations

It was the return of the Blackpool Illuminations Switch-On, so we took two of the ladies from Amber Court to watch the big switch on. They had so much fun, watching the lively Nickelodeon float parade, an illuminating firework display at the beachfront, and a breath-taking Tower light show. Gladys and Yvonne joined the crowd with cheering and counting down for the big moment.

Summer BBQ

Kings Court had a fantastic summer BBQ. The garden was buzzing with families, entertainers, food, drinks and laughter! Thank you to all who came and showed their support. The weather was beautiful as well.

The home would like to thank all the local businesses and family members who sponsored the raffle and tombola prizes, for helping to make the BBQ day a huge success. Your support means a lot and we are so thankful for contribution.

Trip to the seaside

Kents Hill care home enjoyed a lovely day out to Sothend on Sea. The weather was perfect for a walk along the promenade and the Beach. We even stopped off and had some lovely Fish and Chips. Everyone enjoyed their day and the fresh sea air.

Celebrating Yorkshire Day

We celebrated Yorkshire Day at Ashfield Court, it was a great day. Some of the people that live with us even made Yorkshire's white roses out of paper to decorate the home. They turned out brilliant. A fantastic day had by all.
