At our St Patrick's Day party we had many different activities on each table for all our residents to take part in.

There is something really lovely about visiting your local garden centre, they always seem to have something for everyone to look at it.

We are celebrating National Bake Week from today, Monday 4th April for the next 7 days and we would like to take this opportunity and introduce our Baking Queen Lisa.  Lisa always does her best to surprise us with her delicious baking creations.

We enjoyed a different style of exercise Friday morning, we used some sensory fidget toys called pop tubes that are great for arm exercises as well as a lot of fun to play with.

We decided to make one of our favourites today Cornflake Tart. Doreen, Annette, Ann and I made this in the morning ready to have for dessert after our lunchtime meal, this was served with custard and enjoyed by all of our residents.

River View staff, visitors and residents collected donations totalling £38.00 for Red Nose Day this year, with 1 person winning a wonderful chocolate fountain as a thank you for their contribution over the weekend.

We started to plant flowers in our garden for the upcoming bloom season. Our residents lead the group to sprinkle seeds around the garden fence, some other residents and staff plant their flowers on their own pots in the rooms.

Everyone enjoyed the day full of activities, artworks, entertainment, foods and fun. Look how happy everyone is wearing their mini St. Patrick’s hat. A great day indeed.

Our residents have been keeping active and moving! We have been stretching our arms and legs to keep up the flexibility and independence. This encourages everyone to keep happy and healthy!

Earlier this month we took part in the chip butty challenge. It was a great fun team effort. Our chef Dave freshly baked three different types of homemade bread. We had brioche , melted cheese drizzle and buttery herbed bread.

All the resident, visitor and staff mothers were spoilt at Ashmead on Mother’s Day on 27th March 22.

The people living with us at Windmill Court enjoyed showing off their crimping skills, making pasties to celebrate the national day of Cornwall, St Piran’s day.

Our residents began preparing for summer today! It was a lovely bright and warm day so we pulled out the spf 50 sunscreen and soaked up the rays. Out came the seed trays and we enjoyed an afternoon of sunbathing and planting seeds for the garden.

Nora celebrated her 106th Birthday, where she was presented a signed birthday letter from the entire Manchester United football Club, by Jane Clinch Home Manager for Gateford Hill Care Home, Jan Hemsworth, Deputy Home Manager and Lindsay Tanner, Hospitality Manager.

Being creative is so good for your brain and overall wellness, Kents Hill has a varied Art Club at the home that is well attend.  This week the group were making their very own personalised canvas bags, there were some  beautiful designs by the end of the class.

We have really embraced the sunshine this week and had everyone out for cocktail making whilst soaking up the rays! It was lovely to get out and feel the warmth and enjoy a gin or two!

For the second consecutive year, Allingham House joined to the celebrations of Red Nose Day, organising a Fundraising Coffee Morning. Residents, staff and families joined together on this very special event.

We had a smashing time drumming up support for Comic Relief: by taking part in Red Nose Day!
