This year June has been chosen as the month to highlight the capital importance of food and drink in maintaining health and wellbeing in health and social care.

Everyone was in great spirits cheering on our country during the England v Germany football match.

Some of our residents and staff at Hope Green are keen football supporters but even those who prefer other sports enjoyed cheering the football teams on. A great way of spending time together and socialise surrounded by flags, bunting and refreshments.

What a fantastic Fathers Day we had at Bowerfield House. We started the day with drawing the raffle which we raised £95 for our residents, one of our hostess won the prize, we then had a Fathers Day quiz and our Admin Beth won a bottle of prosecco.

Here at The Westbourne we celebrated Royal Ascot, firstly we all picked a horse for the 2:30pm race. All our lovely ladies wore hats that were kindly loaned to us by Lorraine at Tempting Hat Hire in Smallwood. We watched the race and cheered the horses on in style with prosecco and cupcakes.

Minster Grange care home is undergoing a transformation with new staff in seven key roles bringing fresh energy and ideas and heralding exciting changes.

The gradual ‘opening up’ of society after lockdown has seen the long-awaited return of indoor visits, more visitors, trips out and greater contact between family members and friends across our care homes, as we all learn to live alongside Covid.

A  312,000 refurbishment project at Monread Lodge Care Home in Knebworth has been completed, with interior designed spaces, luxury furnishings, sumptuous fabrics, and warm colours creating an elegant inviting environment.

Marita Westaway has taken the helm at King’s Manor Care Home, in Ottery St Mary, Devon bringing a wealth of experience to the role after 20 years in the care sector.

A Friday afternoon was well spent decorating and sampling cupcakes. The chef very kindly, at short notice, whipped up a batch of scrummy cupcakes for our residents to decorate using fondant, icing, vanilla butter cream and chocolate icing as well as a variety of sprinkles.

We couldn't believe the transformation of Our Albert the Veg Man. We are really grateful to our Administrator Kirsty's mum for the work she's put in to transform him.

It's Hot Hot Hot - the arrival of hot weather at Hope Green brought some lovely surprises of ice lolly deliveries and iced lemonade. Always conscious of keeping hydrated, we were enjoying some refreshing treats together whilst chatting about our favourite types of summer holidays.

Bowerfield House had a lovely morning designing our wall art of a football pitch with all the countries flags placed around the football pitch, it's displayed lovely in our lounge.

It's National Carers Week and here at Parkview House we have been showing our appreciation and celebrating carers near and far, valuing their input and impact that they make on peoples lives. We want you to know we love and appreciate you all.
