Our stories

This is Buddy our new resident at The Westbourne. He has been living with us for a few weeks now. He enjoys singing and flapping his wings.

Bowerfield House have been very busy this past week with activities ranging from water painting to cooking. We had a lovely meal for our evening meal, a homemade beef stew. Jenny helped with putting all the ingrediencies together and putting them all in the slow cooker.

Our beautiful new home is really starting to take shape & we are delighted to share with you, some snaps of the progress from December.

We all know how it’s been a struggle for so many this last 2 years. River View thinks is really important to not just look out for the people around you but further afield also. Age UK’s Dementia Café in Reading and Newbury were able to restart again in November.

We welcome our new manager Steven Haddock to Bowerfield House, Steven has been with us for 1 week and we are sure he will fit in our little family perfectly .

River View welcomed the harmonious sounds of the Pangbourne Brass Band recently. Once again, we wrapped up warm to listen to their sounds in our gardens. They have some unique talents in the group, with several members having performed and the London Palladium only days earlier.

Three members of our wonderful team, all received a gift voucher and card for their hard work and going above and beyond in their roles.

At Knights Court we had a wonderful time this Christmas. We celebrated by throwing a party which included fantastic musical entertainment and a special visit from Father Christmas. Here are some of the beautiful moments captured during this festive time of the year in our home.

Hope Green had a very special visitor, Father Christmas himself! He took some time out from preparing for the big day to visit our residents and brought with him some lovely mince pies, the residents and staff were surprised and delighted to see him.

Bringing evergreen trees indoors has traditionally been used to celebrate winter festivals for thousands of years.

Our home is  looking beautiful thanks to the creative flair of the people who live and work at Bridge House.

Just to make sure Father Christmas doesn’t miss us we made sure that all the fireplaces were decorated. The new bar is also well stocked in preparation for the festivities.

This week all staff members at Manorhey enjoyed a Christmas party from the company. the room was decorated beautifully with buffet food, desserts, drink station and a festive sweets station. staff pulled crackers and enjoyed this festive time with friends they work with.

This year's Christmas season is different for all of us due to the pandemic. Instead of doing the traditional Christmas tree decorations. We, the Amber Court staffs wanted to create something new and unique for everyone.

We were very excited to receive our new bowling kit, along with training from the Just Bowl team recently.

We enjoyed a Christmas special concert earlier this month by one of our favourite singers Dean Sinclair, he sang classic songs and definitely bought in some Christmas cheer as residents sung and danced along.

Bowerfield House have had a Christmas raffle we raised £68.

Thank you to all the staff of Clarendon Court who gave so generously to the Reverse Advent Calendar for Nantwich Food Bank.

We enjoyed national elf day earlier this month as we raised money for the Alzheimer's Society.
