Our stories

The residents have continued to add to their pebble snake which they began in September and is currently on display outside the front of their home. They were very proud to add their poppy ones to it to help commemorate Remembrance Day.

The weekly armchair cruise is a very popular activity for the residents as many of our residents are so well travelled.

Catherine lives at Abingdon Court and is such a friendly and helpful lady.

Gillian is such a happy and delightful lady. Until recently she enjoyed a regular manicure and having her nails looking bright and colourful.

We have lots of Halloween fun at Parksprings, with lots of events and dress up. Staff held a Halloween Ball, with food, drink, games and pumpkin carving. It was a great day for everyone. 

Exciting constructions are happening at Parksprings! We have a new log cabin in the grounds 'Rosie's Den'. Your can see it is nearing completion and we are all looking forward to using the cabin, particularly if Government guidelines allow us to use it for visits. 

Here we are getting ready for our Alexandra Court Halloween celebrations. Dorothy made our mummy light up jars, to display round the home. Residents did amazing job carving the pumpkins and Owen really got into his master piece.

We held an afternoon tea at Thorntree Mews, for our residents and had a lovely afternoon going through our letters and cards from "Postcards of Kindness". Since we joined at the beginning of lockdown we have received lots of letters and cards from all over.

Here at Manorhey, we had a Autumnal day. We decorated and dressed the tables in autumn colours and we made our own lamb stew with crusty cobs and cabbage. After lunch we enjoyed spiced pumpkins coffees to warm us all up for the cold outside. 



 

This month at The Moors we have been doing a lot of baking! We have been making apple and berry tarts, birthday buns and even a Christmas cake, just to name a few! The residents have enjoyed weighing and measuring, rolling and cutting but most of all, eating their fabulous creations.

We had an alterative Bonfire Night celebration, here at Minster Grange, with a lovely night-sky themed Son et Lumiere.

This month at The Moors we’ve been enjoying the crisp autumn weather and trying to get out as much as we can before the winter frost sets in.

We’ve had lots of big birthdays at The Moors this month! We enjoyed lots of cake and balloons with good music and good company.

Acorn House have made an oak tree, with the residents. It all started with a cardboard tube, paper, card and papier-mâché and the imagination of Charlotte, Activities and Gavan our maintenance, whose skill in designing and making our tree was excellent as you can see by the photo's.&nbs

The residents from each floor at Allingham House got involved in a national baking competition organized by McVities Biscuits Company.

We had very busy week getting everything ready to celebrate Halloween, at Allingham House.
