What a fab day we had making these scones. We had lots of fun and the residents really enjoyed getting hands on. We all enjoyed eating them with jam and lots of yummy clotted cream and washed down with a pot of tea, and a good natter about all the naughty foods.

Coffee and cake is always popular with our residents, add in some music and we have the recipe for a great afternoon. 

The ladies and the gents really enjoyed decorating the cakes today. The residents requested the cakes to be shared out between the units. Sherry, wine and hot beverages were served during the activity. 

We had so much fun today decorating our trees for the last activity in this months theme Earth Month. We spoke about different trees and had a fun day with plenty of giggles. Our tree pictures are on display in the home. 

It is well known the incredible effect that the ocean has on our well-being - the sight, the sound, the smell.

It may not have been the brightest day, but it truly was a joy for those living at Kings Manor to venture out of the home and take a trip down to Sidmouth.

Spring is well on its way at Kings Manor Care Home, having our own gardener on staff allows for a very hands on approach to the development of the gardens and also to support anyone at the home who has a passion for gardening.

Wyndham Hall laid down the gauntlet to our sister home Abingdon Court to grow the tallest sunflower. Planting started in earnest this week with the staff team joining forces with the people who live at Wyndham. Wish us luck and may the best sunflower win. 

We were given a run for our money recently as we all placed our bets on our favourite horses on the Grand National. We clutched our betting strips, praying for a Gold Strike on the winning horse - leaving the unlucky losers red as rum. 

We had a beautiful morning, with games all around the residents really enjoyed waking up to music and games, it sets off a great vibe for the rest of the day watching everyone hitting the balloon to one another really has benefited them and us. 

April's activities theme here at Bowerfield Court is 'Earth' so recognising this year's Earth Day was important to us.

What a fab day to end the week we have had at Bowerfield House, we have all not stopped laughing and smiling all day. We have celebrated St George's Day and Geoffrey and Eileen's 61st wedding anniversary, they enjoyed a lovely lunch together.

The Westbourne residents and staff celebrated HRH Prince Philip's life with a royal afternoon tea, and watched the service of the funeral. The lounge was decorated with bunting, pictures of Prince Philip and the Royal family.

All the Highfield family sent our warmest wishes to Queen Elizabeth II for her 95th birthday!

Today at Manorhey we had a very special themed day. We took a trip to the wild west where we enjoyed activities in the morning followed by a decadent lunch and a western movie in the afternoon with popcorn and drinks.

Our resident enjoyed a sunny afternoon creating their very own personalised flower displays in the main lounge, using a variety of beautiful flowers. Flower arranging activities are very popular amongst the residents here.
