A fun day was had by all yesterday, it was the first time we were able to safely invite family to our outdoor celebration. 

It's safe to say that a day dedicated to chocolate was always going to be a hit with both residents and staff here at Bowerfield Court. We held a chocolate tasting competition and our receptionist Whitney was definitely our chief taster guessing all the flavours correctly.

Bore Da! What an amazing armchair journey around Wales we had! We reminisced about family holidays that we'd all been on, especially as children. We chatted about fishing and the many different castles that we had individually visited.

We are almost ready for Monday's Big Tea and are really looking forward to seeing you all. We have been donated these Teapig teabags from Booths in Ilkley for us to enjoy with our cakes, many thanks to the Manager at Booths for her kind generosity.

The rain may have been pouring outside but inside Kings Manor things were heating up with some healthy competition playing bowling. It was a popular activity with people joining the team in the ground floor lounge for the afternoon of bowling followed by refreshments.

On 30th June 2021 Coplands celebrated “Health Care Assistant Appreciation Day”. We had a small party arranged for carers on their special day. To thank them, for their hard work. Which they truly deserve!

We had smiles all around when the residents told us about their "kids" adventures! 

Birthdays are always celebrated in style at Riverview with decorations, balloons and of course homemade birthday cakes from the chef and his team.  We are so pleased that families are now able to visit and celebrate birthdays in person to make the day extra special.

Our Westbourne residents watched the England and Germany football match on Tuesday evening. There was loads of excitement and flag waving by both ladies and gentlemen, topped of with a splendid buffet supper with a lovely refreshing glass of Sahndy and of course England score a goal.

Well done to one of our residents who won our fabulous Father's Day hamper. All money raised has been placed directly into the residents' fund with our plans being to spend it on a day trip out. Happy Father's Day to all Dads!

A local radio society celebrated 100 years and took the time to remember members who have contributed to their work in the past. One of our residents was bowled over when they received a parcel in the post which included badges, key rings, hats and celebratory literature.

Our garden theme continues at Hope Green and although the weather has gone much cooler outside we're still able to enjoy garden conversations and crafts together indoors whilst watching the birds visit our bird feeders by the window.

Hope Green celebrated June together with a gathering of flowers from the garden and good conversations with the gardeners who did a fantastic job. It was wonderful to walk together, pick flowers, identify as many of them as we could, and decorate our dining room tables with lovely posies.

Residents had fun with the old favourites, jigsaws and painting were a hit but the one that proved the most fun was playing snakes and ladders, there were cheers when we landed on the ladders but plenty of groans when we landed on a snake.

At our recent residents committee meeting there was a request for more picnics in the garden now that the weather is warmer. The next alfresco meal happened very quickly and it was Fish and Chips all round, a huge success.
