Teamwork makes the dreams work, that will be the perfect definition to describe the amazing pumpkin shaped biscuits that the residents baked as part as one of the many activities that they enjoyed to celebrate Halloween.

We also have poppies available at reception for residents, relatives and staff to donate to.

Bowerfield House had another great fun day celebrating hug a bear day, staff and residents loved giving our massive teddy bear Ted a big hug.

Ted the teddy bear made everyone smile and cheered every one up. Ted was all hugged up and later went for an afternoon nap.

Home cooking at its best! The residents made a fantastic homemade vegetable soup. They prepared all the vegetables, peeling carrots, chopping potatoes, pressing garlic and popping peas. Everyone took their time and the vegetables soon piled up in the cooking pot.

Not only did our residents enjoy preparing for Halloween with pumpkin painting, but our staff did to!

We had a fabulous day celebrating the care awards with our residents. We were delighted to win Best New Comer for our fabulous Home Manager Angela Galloway and Administrator of the year for our Admin Michael Lawrence.

The residents enjoyed getting dressed up and were happy to be part of the annual 7th MMCG and Countrywide Care Awards which took place on Friday 24th September.

On Friday 19th October we were delighted to be presented with second prize from Great Aycliffe town council for best community garden. We were absolutely over the moon to receive this award.

We love having seasonal displays in Reception at The Moors and we are delighted to present our Harvest Festival display for Autumn.  Our receptionist Tricia excels at creating these wonderful displays for the residents, staff and relatives to enjoy in the coffee shop.  We hope you enjoy

We had a wonderful Friday afternoon in October with a live singing entertainment us from the garden. We enjoyed having a singalong and dance and had a great time.  So pleased he was able to visit before the cold days set in.

We are enjoying getting out and about again and in October we enjoyed a lovely day out to the Japanese Gardens. We had such a wonderful day following the map of the gardens and exploring the bridges, gardens and pathways.  We would definitely recommend a visit if you’ve not been before.

We had a visit from Comley Park Nursery today. Out in our lovely garden and Summerhouse. The residents have really missed their weekly visit and it was lovely to catch up . Visit had to be outside because of restrictions but with our gardens and summerhouse it was easy to facilitate.

The winners of the Pumpkin competition was number 4 - Garrion .. the black bowler hat has changed to a witches hat .. spooky spooky.  Our pumpkin hat judge presented the prizes ..

We celebrated a belated Macmillan Coffee morning at the Home in September raising money for this wonderful charity.

We celebrated Alzheimer’s month at the home in September by creating our own dragon flies and lilies.  Our residents created a wonderful display of their work and to remember Alzheimer’s during the month of September.
