St Patrick's Day Celebrations

Saint Patrick's Day, or the Feast of Saint Patrick (Irish: Lá Fhéile Pádraig) The day commemorates Saint Patrick and the arrival of Christianity in Ireland and celebrates the heritage and culture of the Irish in general.

The residents and staff of Knights Court Nursing Home enjoyed a great St Patrick’s Day celebration at our care home on Wednesday and 17th March 2021. We love a party here at Knights Court so we decided to celebrate in true Irish style!  Our lounge was transformed into all things Irish. Flags of green, white & orange draped the walls, shamrocks used as the national emblem of Ireland proudly on display on the walls and the floor was covered with green balloons in addition to each member of staff and residents dressed in something green to mark the occasion!

The residents also enjoyed virtual musical entertainment for the afternoon as Ricardo sung popular Irish tunes including Molly Malone, Where the Streets Have No Name, On Raglan Road... amongst many others. Our residents had a jolly good old time!

Team Knights Court hope you had a wonderful St Patrick’s day and would like to leave you with this wise Irish proverb ... For each petal on the shamrock, this brings a wish your way: Good health, good luck, and happiness for today and every day.” —Irish blessing
