Cedar Court VE Day 80th Celebrations.

Celebrating 80 years of VE Day.

At Cedar Court our VE Day street party was a fantastic celebration, bringing together family, friends, and local community members in the garden. We were honoured to welcome the new High Sheriff of Surrey, Peter Cluff, and his wife Suzanne, who joined us as our special guests. Victory in Europe (VE) Day, marked on 8th May, celebrates the end of World War II in Europe in 1945. It was a day of joy and relief, as people across Britain gathered to celebrate peace after years of war. The event was packed with cheer and laughter, as familiar faces reunited. We were joined by Marc Scully, Head of the Parish Council, Men in Sheds, local churches, and many others who had strong ties to our community. The Kitchen Team prepared a delicious feast, while the Cedars team dressed up in festive outfits, adding to the celebratory atmosphere. The High Sheriff gave an inspiring speech on the significance of VE Day and handed out prizes from our Victory Just Bowl contest. The night ended on a high note with entertainer Eliza performing a delightful mix of tunes for us all. It was truly a day to remember!
