Autumn / Winter Activities Programme at Clarendon Court

Here at Clarendon Court we are well into our Autumn / Winter programme. We have a varied activity programme designed to be interesting, give stimulation and above all a fun experience.

Highlighted activities for November are;

Bond Entertainment presents an ABBA tribute show, which is fabulous and very popular with residents and families alike, a great show worth waiting for. We also have booked a bonfire special, a string quartet coming on the 5th November, indeed a very special show for our residents. Along with a ‘Ukulele band’  entertaining us on the 26th November, which will lead us nicely into our festive December programme. We also are pleased to announce the continuation of our twice monthly visit from our fitness trainer Nicola which is a fun class enjoyed on all floors by our residents, and the weekly visit of our huge ‘pat dog’ Rex.

In challenging times I like to keep the programme varied and continue with our standard activities like music, quizzes and religion but also try to bring new and exciting experiences to our residents' day. We held a flower arranging class which went down really well and are looking to make it a regular feature.

Coming up;

We have very exciting plans to work on a dementia café in our Weaver suite dining room, opening it up to the general public from 2pm till 4pm. The first café day is planned for the 12th December, with a Christmas theme. We also have a Christmas cabaret show planned (Sheena’s Christmas Party) on that afternoon in the lounge. Hopefully ongoing we would like to hold this café once a month.

The garden is undergoing a vast tidy up and we are looking to improve the outside area and form a dementia garden.
