Supporting the Homeless

The staff at Brunel have done an amazing job in donating and purchasing essential items for a great charity called Supporting the homeless in the south west.

One of the charity's volunteers came to Brunel with accompanied by her children to collect the donations.

They were extremely grateful to all the staff here for their generosity.

Remembrance Day

We traditionally respected the two minute silence on 11-11-20 at 11 o'clock watching with interest the TV broadcast. We followed this after lunch with a typical black and white WW2 film. A very moving day, but important to us all.

Children In Need

Residents and staff have been raising money for Children In Need by wearing their pyjamas, fun bowties, hats and Pudsey Bear T-Shirts . They also enjoyed decorating cupcakes and having a fun time.

Butterflies

Here at Clumber Court we have been making some butterflies. Some of the residents chose to use different mediums to paint them. They chose there style and created some beautiful paintings. It was a lovely relaxed atmosphere and every one had a wonderful time chatting to each other and singing to the 60s music.

The Beach Hut Pod

The BIG Reveal; we are super excited at Kents Hill Care Home to be able to continue visiting in an enjoyable but most importantly safe way. We would like to introduce the 'Kents Hill Beach Hut' - now officially open for visitors 🥂😀🥰

Remembering

Residents and staff at Windmill Care Centre paused their daily activities and joined together in 2 minutes of silence to remember and honour everyone who has served and lost their lives in conflict.  After this act of remembrance, a delicious selection of home made, beautifully decorated themed cakes were served to everyoneImage removed.

Elf Day

Croft House Care Home are taking part in Elf Day on Friday 4th December to raise money for Alzheimer's Society. Whether it's putting on an elf hat or going all out with the full elf costume we will be getting dressed up for this Christmas event. There will be plenty of fun, games and prizes and delicious treats for everyone to enjoy.

Remembrance Day - Poppy Pebbles

The residents have continued to add to their pebble snake which they began in September and is currently on display outside the front of their home. They were very proud to add their poppy ones to it to help commemorate Remembrance Day.

Remembrance Sunday

A lovely atmosphere at The Westbourne on Remembrance Sunday. Residents joined together to honour those in all wars with two minutes silence, and reminiscing with photos of poppies and poetry. One of our residents chose to wear his beret and a poppy whilst watching the live coverage of the London Cenotaph parade.

There was also plenty of singing and pom pom shaking in a singalong together.

Cooking Club

Last week we enjoyed our cookery club. Residents decided to make chutney this time. So we made a delicious apple chutney and they all enjoyed it with their cheese and biscuit for dinner.
