Craft Sessions for Mothering Sunday

As part of our preparation for Mothering Sunday we held a morning of Decoupage which everyone really enjoyed. Preparation was key as we had to press and store our flowers four weeks prior to using them but the wait was worth it, our jars and vases looking stunning.

St Patrick's Day Luncheon Club

St Patrick's Day was celebrated at Brunel's regular luncheon club with a St. Patrick's Day themed menu. For starters there was an Irish leek and potato soup with homemade soda bread, followed by Irish stew with colcannon mash and carrot and swede then finished with a desert of Baileys cheesecake and a cheese board. This was then followed by an Irish coffee and all washed down with a few glasses of Guinness obviously, for those who could manage it.

Online Art

Stanley, one of our activities team has been working with some of the residents who are less able to attend group events and activities within the home. He has taken a tablet to the residents in their rooms and they have begun to enjoy painting on the tablet. This has been a huge success.

St Patrick's Day at Abingdon Court

We celebrated in style at Abingdon Court. The activities team of course were dressed to the nines in full on St Patrick's Day themed outfits whilst the rest of the staff team, never ones to miss out, made sure that they were wearing something green to join in with the fun.

The lounges were decorated with St Patrick's Day banners and balloons and residents tucked into Irish stout cake washed down with Irish Cream or Guinness of course. There was plenty of Irish music and singalongs throughout the day. Everyone thoroughly enjoyed themselves.

Online Digital Church Service

We are so very lucky at Abingdon Court that Christchurch Church provide us with a regular church service.

St Patrick's Day at Manorhey

Today at Manorhey residents and staff members celebrated St Patrick's Day. In the morning we had an Irish special virtual concert with all our favourite songs performed by one of our regular performers Debbie McCormick. Residents also sampled some of our homemade Irish soda bread and a drink of the famous Guinness.

Chicks at Bowerfield Court

What an amazing surprise this morning for all residents and staff. Overnight we have had two of our eggs hatch! The new chicks have now been removed from their incubator and spend the next week in their new home. Two more chicks are hatching and should be with us today. We're all loving our new visitors. The residents plan to name the chicks and then hold a 'Name That Chick!' competition over Easter.

Bowerfield Court's Easter Eggs

Everyone here at Bowerfield Court are looking forward to the run up to Easter. We have lots of activities planned, starting off today with a very special delivery. We currently have eight eggs in an incubator preparing to hatch. We will share updates over the next couple of weeks to show their progress. It's safe to say, all residents and staff are very eggcited.

St Patrick's Day

Residents enjoyed making placemats for the tables on St Patrick's Day, a lot of work went into these and there were enough to go round for everyone. They looked great and really brightened up the tables. They also decorated cakes for afternoon tea, which everyone including staff sat and enjoyed with a cup of tea.

Fish Supper

We had a fish supper at The Belvedere this week. All residents enjoyed their dinner along with a glass of wine or a bottle of beer.
