The Wharf Care Home

We've been stretching, toe tapping, swaying and singing along to some energy boosting beats!.

It was Macmillan Coffee morning at Croft House today, due to COVID-19 we unfortunately couldn't have families to join us but the staff and residents loved the cakes, buns, cookies and scones we had. They went so quickly!! We also did 2 football bingo cards to raise more money and proudly raised over £100!!

Maria Mallaband and Countrywide Coronavirus Update

Maria Mallaband and Countrywide – keeping our residents safe and connected during Covid-19.

As our teams continue working to keep our residents safe and connected throughout Covid-19, we’re regularly adapting our guidance for visitors in-line with advice from both the government and the Department of Health.

Birds at Minster Grange

Thanks to the kindness of The York Bird of Prey Centre, our residents were treated to a garden visit by two of their stars. Cobra, a male Harris Hawk, and Angel, a female Barn Owl are two favourites at the centre and often feature in flying demonstrations.  This month, however, they took a day off to bring their handler on a trip to Minster Grange. With his help they settled into our garden for an afternoon and we were delighted in all the attention and admiration we could heap on them.

French Week at Heeley Bank

Celebrating all things French this week at Heeley Bank Care Home with a wine and cheese tasting event to start the week off, which was enjoyed by all.

Our French Boules tournament was very competitive with  lots of laughter and we are all looking forward to more activities throughout the week and hopefully lots more food tasting too.

Flower Gifts for Family

During art class one of our ladies wanted to paint a picture of her granddaughter's favourite flowers so she could frame it and give it to her for her engagement present. We went to the garden to pick some of the flowers so she could use them to inspire her painting. Her granddaughter was very pleased when she was presented with the painting.
