Puzzles

One of our new regular activities is puzzle club! It gives people a chance to get together, socialise and work together to complete puzzles! We do have a lot of variations in the the puzzles that we have to enable all different abilities to be included and the part.

Sun catchers

In Rutland we have enjoyed making suncatchers this week! The residents have really enjoyed making them and they have had so many compliments! They really brighten the place up and I look forward to adding many more to the collection.

Windchimes

Continuing with our goal to make the home as colourful and vibrant as possible, today we painted windchimes! When the weather is nicer again they will finish their journey by moving to the garden, but for now they are making the dining room look lovely!

Halloween Decorating

Residents and staff have been busy creating some Halloween decorations for the home. The residents really enjoyed getting involved and creating different faces, there was lots of laughter. They have now been hung up around the home along with our other spooky decorations.

1920's Party at Allingham House

At Allingham House we held a Roaring 1920’s party. We had a photoshoot where the residents could pose for a picture. The ladies enjoyed wearing headbands with feathers, black elbow gloves and feathers boas, whilst the gentleman were wearing hats. During the afternoon the chefs provided trays of sandwiches and fresh fruit that were served with teas, coffees, juices and fizzy drinks, whilst they were listening and dancing the Greatest Hits of 1920’s.

Allingham House Letters

At Allingham House they have a nursery next door, Bright Horizons. They used to visit us once a month, but as you know the visits have been cancelled until further notice, although we are keeping in contact by arranging a Skype call so residents and children could see each other again.

Ice Cream Van at Manorhey

Residents and staff at Manorhey, designed and made our very own ice cream van, which was then filled with a variety of different flavours cones  and toppings. We supervised the ice cream  van on the each floor, whilst playing the traditional ice cream tune around the building which caught the residents attention and encouraged them to come up to the van and choose their very own favourite ice cream to enjoy.
