Remembrance Day

We celebrated Remembrance Day sharing memories and singing songs with our residents here at Troutbeck. We had afternoon tea with scones jam fresh cream and strawberries.

A Busy Week At Bowerfield House

A busy week at Bowerfield House. We celebrated Children In Need with a fun packed day - staff and residents took part in a PJ dress down day. There was lots of fun and smiles.

Happy Birthday to Jean who celebrated her birthday with the Bowerfield House team. Jean had a lovely cake!

Our reminiscence sessions have been very popular so far this month. We also embraced Remembrance with thoughtful reflection in the two minutes silence.

Monthly Competition … Italy and Food

Here at Clarendon Court on Thursday 16th we had our pizza day where residents had fun assembling pizza's with the help of our staff, lots of laughs along the way and then after they were cooked, later for tea it was pizza's all around with a lovely glass of vino.

Morning Sessions of Exercise

The Westbourne residents thoroughly enjoyed a morning session of exercises with music, ribbons and balloons. It was a lovely atmosphere with some residents using hand held fans to move their hands, wrists and fingers whilst enjoying the gentle breeze effect too!

Back to the 1950s!

Along with our themed wall we've spent time looking at cards and books containing images from the 1950s. We've enjoyed discussing what we saw and shared memories from times gone by. We've also really loved listening to all the hits from the 1950s. What a great excuse for a dance!

World Kindness Day

For World Kindness Day we created a kindness wall. Alongside the kindness quotes, staff were encouraged to write their own kind words on heart shaped paper and share them with their colleagues by adding them to the wall. We all agreed that a few kind words can go a long way.

Halloween at Riverview

We really got into the spirt of Halloween at Riverview, even Godzilla got an invite this year.

Kemble Aerodrome

One of our most recent trips out was to the Kemble Aerodrome.  The airfield is being used to store retired aircraft including Boeing 747s and large passenger planes.  Its astounding to see so many huge aircraft all lined up together.

Supporting the Homeless

The staff at Brunel have done an amazing job in donating and purchasing essential items for a great charity called Supporting the homeless in the south west.

One of the charity's volunteers came to Brunel with accompanied by her children to collect the donations.

They were extremely grateful to all the staff here for their generosity.

Remembrance Day

We traditionally respected the two minute silence on 11-11-20 at 11 o'clock watching with interest the TV broadcast. We followed this after lunch with a typical black and white WW2 film. A very moving day, but important to us all.
