Gardening Time

One of our residents, Philip, enjoyed a lovely afternoon watering the plants, flowers and tomatoes in our greenhouse.  He used to garden with his dad so this brought back many happy memories.

Our Local Duck Pond

With the weather cooling down we enjoyed a walk and getting out into the fresh air.  With our home being in a rural location we are lucky to be close to our local duck pond.  How lucky we are to have such a beauty spot on our door step?

Fruit Kebabs

Promoting choice at Kings Manor Care Home is really important to the team.  Giving people living at the home an opportunity to pick and build their own fruit kebab was so much fun.  It was really interesting watching what fruits people loved too.  Everyone really enjoyed the visit from the lifestyle coordinators and their bright trolley.

National Ice Cream Day

To celebrate National Ice Cream day yesterday we had local business Lola Vintage Ice Cream, who arrived with her ice creams & retro sweets for our families and residents.
Everyone really enjoyed the event and sampled many different flavours that were available.

Partnering with local school

Steve our Customer Relations Manager met with the Head Teacher & Admin Team providing Goodie Bags and Ice Creams for them at Lace Hill Academy.  They discussed that they want to incorporate the home into the Academy Curriculum for 2022/2023 school year. This will involve partnering together to bring more awareness around the care sector for the children, with focus emphasised around Dementia support whilst providing our residents the opportunity to engage with students across various age groups.

50th Wedding Celebrations

One of the lovely people living with us really wanted to surprise her parents with a celebration for their 50th Golden Wedding Anniversary.

Singing Outside

The people living at Water Royd enjoyed a nice afternoon in the garden and loved our singer Denise who entertained and had a nice sing and dance with everyone. We made sure everyone had some nice fresh cold ice lolly's and refreshments in the sunny weather.

World Chocolate Day

Who doesn't love chocolate? We spent the afternoon trying various bars and talking about our favourites at the home this week.

Trip to Roof Top Bar

We have a motto here at Kents Hill which says: “live your life to the full” and our Residents are doing just that with just a little help from us 😊 Because we should all live our lives today, not tomorrow! Our Residents spent a lovely afternoon in one of our newest bars in Milton Keynes! Built on the 14th floor – Sky Bar with panoramic views of Milton Keynes. A visit which for sure will be repeated as our Residents had the best time!

Mobile Zoo Visit

We were so pleased to be able to have some animals visit the home recently which was so lovely.  The people living at the home really enjoyed being able to interact with the different animals and had a great afternoon together.
