Coronavirus: guidance regarding visitors

Thank you for your continued support and understanding whilst we all follow the current government guidelines of practicing social distancing. We therefore still find ourselves in a position of needing to severely restrict visitors to our care homes to protect the wellbeing of residents, staff and the public.

For exceptional circumstances visits will be considered and then only by appointment with the manager.

Regrettably, anyone visiting the home without prior agreement will be refused admission.

Health professionals continue to visit when essential following the protocols in place.

In this continued period of uncertainty, loved ones can maintain communication via Skype and social media which is available in all our homes. We are happy to support and advise where needed to enable family members and friends to stay in contact, please speak to us if assistance is required, we will do our best to help.

We are committed to keeping our residents and staff as safe as possible as cases of Coronavirus develop within the UK. 

Clinical visits and appointments to ensure the continuity of care to our residents will of course continue as usual.

This is part of our broader plan which also includes stopping visits from the community, from external entertainers and delaying non-essential maintenance works.

Please note that our homes remain open to admissions as usual and are following the current guidelines issued from the public health authorities to ensure the wellbeing of all. It is important we continue to support the healthcare system and individuals who require a safe care environment.

For any authorised or essential visits to one of our care services then please take the usual sensible precautions, including hand washing.  Our home managers have been asked not to admit anyone displaying symptoms (increased temperature, shortness of breath or flulike symptoms) and we ask you to cooperate with them in this regard.

We will continue to keep this policy under review and provide updates as appropriate.  Your understanding is very much appreciated by all our staff.

Nursing Team

Our team of qualified nurses are on hand to deliver clinical care and support 24/7.

Our nurses are supported by Clinical Practitioners in our team. These are talented and passionate carers who have received specialised training to upskill their clinical knowledge and experience.

Care Team

Our care team are on hand to provide 24-hour personal care assistance for people who need support, encouragement, companionship and security while promoting independence in a safe, comfortable and homely environment.

Our team are on hand to support our guests around the clock so that they have the freedom to do as they choose and peace of mind knowing that all the little things are being taken care of.

Chef & Catering Team

So much of our health and well-being relies on the food we eat. Our skilled chef and catering team put their heart and soul into the food they make and serve to make sure residents have a pleasurable dining experience, filled with plenty of choice and variety.

Activities & Wellbeing Team

We want everyday life to feel rewarding and fulfilling for each and every person we look after. We get to know our residents, who they are as individuals and the interests they have. Our Activities team arranges a variety of one-to-one and social group activities, tailored to the likes and preferences of each resident. From in-house entertainment to taking trips out. From continuing or rekindling personal hobbies, to find new ones to enjoy. We want our residents to be happy and engaged, no matter what their healthcare needs.

Hospitality Team

Our Hospitality team works alongside our Care and Catering teams to deliver a friendly and generous reception to residents and their guests. While our care team focuses on supporting the healthcare needs of our residents, our hospitality staff take care of anything else needed for comfortable and happy everyday living.

Housekeeping & Domestic Team

Staff in this department are responsible for the cleanliness and tidiness of our home. They play an important role in making sure our home is a pleasant and happy place to live and spend time.

Maintenance Team

Our maintenance team are on hand to help out with any maintenance, decoration, and repair work throughout the home. They help to keep our home and grounds safe for everyone living and working here.

Regional Support Team

It’s very important to us at Maria Mallaband that our Home Managers and their team feel properly supported.

Our regional support teams are made up of a Quality Assurance Inspector, Human Resources Manager, Marketing Coordinator, and a Regional Director to oversee the smooth running of the homes within that region.

The team are in place to provide advice, help, and guidance to our homes, and ensure that company policies and procedures are being followed.
