Devon’s newest luxury care home taking shape with building progressing on schedule

Claremont build progress update

Building work at Claremont Manor, a 71-bed luxury care home in Dawlish, is progressing well and is on course for a grand opening early next year.

This £13 million development, which is the latest addition to the Maria Mallaband Care Group (MMCG) portfolio of more than 80 care homes across the UK, is expected to open in early 2024, offering exceptional and personalised residential, dementia and nursing care in a luxury setting, complete with exquisite interiors and landscaped gardens.

The state-of-the-art care home will boast a large number of luxury features, ranging from large en-suite rooms, to landscaped grounds with sensitive planting to encourage bees, butterflies, and other wildlife to visit the gardens.

The home’s features will include a hair and beauty salon, a cinema room, a wellness suite, private dining and leisure suite. The home will also include a Grandchildren’s Room, where families with younger children can meet and enjoy time together.

Sabrina Waterhouse, Customer Relations Manager for Claremont Manor, Dawlish, said:

“We are entering a really exciting point in the build, where we are starting to see the different spaces forming and identity each room and lounge.   We are now able to get a good feel for the generous size of the entire home.

Every day is revealing a new part of the home and all that it can become! The home has already brought a lot of interest since there is currently nothing like Claremont Manor in the Dawlish community and there is definitely a buzz around the home.”

The new home will have a big emphasis on wellbeing and lifestyle, in line with MMCG’s More… Lifestyle Programme.

Claremont Manor will offer a wealth of activities and opportunities, all of which will be tailored to meet the needs of mind, body, and soul of each individual, according to their interests, ensuring that they can continue to live life as they had done prior to moving into the home.

Sabrina adds:

“We strive to help those living with us to retain their independence and maintain their hobbies and passions because we understand that moving into a new environment is never an easy thing, so we want to ensure that their experience living with us is as comfortable and enjoyable and they can keep living life to the fullest.

As the opening date nears, the care group will be hosting two recruitment events at in October for interested parties to meet the management team, find out about the available roles and discover what it is like to be a Maria Mallaband Care Group employee.
