Guidance regarding visitors
As a precautionary measure, and in accordance with current government guidance we find ourselves in a position where we have to severely restrict visitors to our home in order to protect the wellbeing of residents, staff and the public.
Health professionals will be visiting as usual but family members are now asked not to visit at all, unless there are particular exceptional circumstances and then only by appointment with the manager. Clinical visits and appointments to ensure the continuity of care to our residents will of course continue as usual.
Regrettably, anyone visiting the home without prior agreement will be refused admission.
We do hope that this will be for a limited time only and we will be doing our best to allow loved ones to maintain communication via Skype and social media. We thank you for your understanding and cooperation.
We are committed to keeping our residents and staff as safe as possible as cases of Coronavirus develop within the UK.
This has been a difficult decision for us to take and understand that this will cause some anxiety and concern. We do believe that this is the right thing to do in the current situation and trust that you will work with us as we seek to find the right balance between protecting our residents and maintaining important contact with loved ones.
This continues to be part of our broader plan which has included stopping visits from the community, from external entertainers and delaying non-essential maintenance works.
Please note that our homes remain open to admissions as usual to support the increasing pressure on the healthcare services.
If you have made a prior appointment as agreed with the Home Manager and are visiting one of our care services then please take the usual sensible precautions, including hand washing. Please note that our home managers have been asked not to admit anyone displaying symptoms (increased temperature, shortness of breath or flulike symptoms) and we ask you to cooperate with them in this regard, even if an appointment has been made.
We will, of course, keep this policy under review and provide updates as appropriate. Your understanding is very much appreciated by all our staff.
