Our stories

Over the past few Mondays we have created a Reminiscence café.  The people living with us can come enjoy refreshments and snacks and talk about a specific topic. This weeks topic was beach days and the experiences that we had.

We were delighted to receive our Just Bowl kit to the home and everyone was so excited to get involved.  There were so great scores and we are looking forward to trying to beat them next time.

A team from Chartwell Manor Care Home joined the community of Aylesbury on Saturday 27th August for Parklife, a free annual event hosted and organised by Aylesbury Town Council.  We held a traditional tombola and raised £100 for Emmett’s Genies, one of Aylesbury Town Mayor, C

Cedar Court Care Home welcomed back friends from Cranleigh Baptists church for a hymn Service on Sunday. Keith brought with him a team that including some old friends and many new ones. There was a good mix of multi-national and intergenerational team members present.

Aboriginal people have used dots in art and other forms for a long time. Dots can be seen in symbolic patterns carved on artefacts, rocks, stone and bodies. It’s thought the first form of dot art was drawn on the earth to communicate.

The residents had a 70's groovy love and peace party to celebrate the end of another summer week.

They entered the spirit of the party, chat, drink and laugh with each other.

Coplands Care Home Manager Elisabeta Mzhika has celebrated becoming a double award winner this year after recently winning at the inaugural Brent Adult Social Care Awards.

Every week we have a baking club where we create different treats.  This week we all decided to make chocolate rice krispies  cakes for everyone to enjoy with their afternoon tea.

Some friends of one of our residents asked if they could come and visit her as a surprise so our amazing catering manager Tracey decided it would be a lovely idea to provide everyone with a beautiful tasty afternoon tea.

It was so special to be apart of a 100th birthday celebration for someone living with us at our home.  We arranged a special cake from all of us to be brought as a surprise and decorated her room.  Having the Queens card arrive was so special for her too.  What a lovely day.

We can’t get enough of Boonies Pet Therapy. Twice a month different animals come to join us and visit the wonderful people who live here at River View. This always sparks wonderful reminiscing stories.

Some of our residents went on a wee impromtu trip to The Milk Barn for ice cream on Sunday 3rd July. It was a lovely day so Aaron and Sam thought it would be good to visit the Barn . The residents loved it, just outside Falkirk set in the countryside The Barn is a great place to visit.

Parksprings 3 musketeers, our new project to keep busy and make a difference . The Summer house went up when Covid first started and was purchased with money we raised to replace the old worn out band stand . We have since fund raised and bought nice furniture for inside with plants and lights.

We had an afternoon of pizza making in July.  We chose the base and selected the topping and our wonderful kitchen team cooked them for us.  They were delicious and we had them for tea.

A huge thank you Julie our Community Champion at Tesco Catterick for the wonderful treat for our residents. Julie popped in with ice lollies to cool down our residents on this hot summers day.

We held our summer fayre in July at Rose Lodge Care Home and enjoyed setting up all of the stalls including a bottle bag stall where you could win a bottle of wine or water, tombola stall cake stall and hook a duck and some amazing raffle prizes which were donated to the home.  Our residents
