Here at Maria Mallaband Care Group & Countrywide Care Homes, we are committed to providing the best working conditions to all of our staff. All of our homes are luxurious and well equipped and we pride ourselves on our dedicated staff who are friendly, inclusive and interactive.
We also believe it is important to listen and you will be working within an environment where everyone’s needs, concerns and suggestions are considered and you are encouraged to contribute positively to our values.
You will be encouraged to be engaged in your own learning and self development and are given the flexibility to take ownership of your role.
The company is constantly growing and expanding, and as a result, career progression opportunities are often just around the corner.
Indeed, many of our Directors, Senior Managers and Care Managers have climbed the career ladder from within.
The Company welcomes all internal applications for its senior posts and actively encourages internal promotion where appropriate.
Training and Development
Training and Development within MMCG is available to all staff at any level; we do the majority of mandatory training using e-learning software allowing the learner to go through courses in their own time and gain certificates in Health & Safety, Dementia Awareness and Infection Control to name but a few.
Whether you are working as a Domestic Assistant, right up to Care Manager Level, we are committed to ensuring you have access to all the training needed to do a fantastic job. Domestic Assistants have access to their relevant housekeeping qualifications, Kitchen Staff are able to access catering courses, diet and nutrition courses and hospitality courses along with specialist cooking courses for residents with dysphagia or other specialised feeding needs. Care Assistants can expect to complete their Level 2 in Health & Social Care before progressing on to Level 3. Many Nurses and Deputy Managers access their Level 5 in Leadership and Management to become Care Home Managers of the Future. Training does not stop at Manager Level as we are happy to discuss career progression and opportunities within the business with our current Care Home Managers.
Apprenticeship opportunities are available and supported by specialist Training Providers so any apprentice joining the Company will have a full support package whilst undertaking their qualification.
Registered Nurses – New and Experienced
As an employer, we can offer competitive rates of pay, training and development (including personalised clinical training), support with newly qualified preceptorships, revalidation, NMC registration costs, a health and wellbeing cash plan and various other company benefits. MMCG have also recently entered into a national working agreement with the RCN, which will strengthen our support for our nurses.
We want to be an employer of choice, so that means we’re flexible and accommodating – we can offer bank shifts in addition to permanent contracted hours. If you haven’t worked in a care home before, or you’re still in training, we want to talk to you about what it’s like working in a care home, so we’re always happy to take time out to show you round one of our services, or just have a chat about how we deliver excellent care for our residents, and support staff to do so.
What our nurses typically do:
- Chronic disease management
- Leadership and management
- Full range of clinical skills
- End of life care
- Advanced nurse roles
- Dementia care
We have all of our services listed on our website, where you can find out more about life at each home – as they’re all so different. www.mmcgcarehomes.co.uk
