Dementia care homes
We have developed a number of high-quality dementia units (also referred to as EMI care) at several properties that cater specifically for the needs of residents diagnosed with dementia or dementia-related illnesses. These provide a safe and comfortable environment for residents requiring this category of care and specialist staff is on hand 24 hours a day to give treatment and offer extra support to residents.
The main cause of dementia is the deterioration of brain function, which affects memory (forgetfulness), concentration, reasoning and even general day to day life skills. The most common types of dementia-related illnesses are Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia and dementia with Lewy Bodies. It is advisable to contact your own GP in the first instance should yourself, a family member or a friend believe that they need to discuss any dementia-related symptoms. An early diagnosis is always advisable and in some cases can even rule out other similar symptom related illnesses.
