Welcome to Rosedale

Hello my name is Amanda Harland and I am the Home Manager of Rosedale.

I began training as a Registered nurse at the age of 18, beginning with General Adult Nursing and later choosing to work with older people with mental health problems. After qualifying in 1989, I worked in the NHS for over 20 years before completing a MSc degree and began a career in education. I returned to the healthcare sector following personal experience of seeking a suitable care home for a close relative.

Our philosophy at Rosedale is to enable each resident to gain a sense of well-being and security through a personalised approach to care. Supporting a trained and compassionate team to deliver high quality care is satisfying and motivates continuous improvement.

Rosedale offers all categories of elderly care; residential and nursing care as well as dementia residential and nursing care (sometimes referred to as EMI care). We also offer a flexible day care service and short-term respite breaks.
Supporting the delivery of high quality and personalised care, we employ a team of Registered Nurses, Care Practitioners, Senior Carers and Carers as well as a support team of Kitchen, Maintenance, Activities, Domestic and Administrative personnel. We are fortunate enough to have a full complement of staff and this enables continuity of care.

Visitors and families are always welcome at any time and we can offer advice on any aspect of care with no obligation. We look forward to meeting you.

We were pleased with many of the positive observations the CQC noted in their report, including:

• There was a calm, positive atmosphere throughout our visit and we saw that people’s requests for assistance were answered promptly. Throughout the visit, the interactions we observed between staff and people who used the service were friendly, respectful, supportive and encouraging.

• Our observations indicated that people were able to spend their day as they wished. We saw some people involved in communal activities and others preferring to spend time in their rooms.

• People who lived at the home and their relatives told us they knew who the manager was and saw them regularly around the home; they confirmed they were approachable and responded to concerns and queries.
