My name is Jo Widdowson and I am the Registered Care Manager at Belvoir Vale Care Home.

After working at Belvoir Vale for 13 years, I am delighted to have been appointed as the Registered Manager. I have many years of experience within the industry and I am passionate about Belvoir Vale Care Homes. I achieved my Level 5 Leadership and Management Qualification in 2013. I have a very much hands on approach and like to be involved directly with the Residents, Relatives and Staff on a daily basis backed up my excellent qualified experienced team.

I have lived in this area for all of my life and have strong connections with the Local Community which benefits me greatly in my role as Manager.

Here at Belvoir Vale we like to have a happy family atmosphere trying to make it as much as home from home for our Residents with facilities and activities to cater for all requirements. We have very high standard running throughout the Home and my mission follows our core mission statement which is to be the best care provider in the UK and to make the whole experience life enhancing for our Residents.

Our care home is furnished to a very high standard and looks like a four-star county hotel as opposed to a care home! We pride ourselves in providing the best possible care and offer companionship, choice, excellent food and personalised social activities.

We were delighted with the outcome of the September 2015 CQC inspection and are committed to working with our residents, their families, and Health & Social Care professionals to continually improve and develop our services.

We were pleased with many of the positive observations the CQC noted in their report, including:

-People were supported by staff who had received training and supervision to ensure they could perform their roles and responsibilities effectively.

-People’s choices, likes and dislikes were respected and people were treated in a kind and caring manner.

-People’s privacy and dignity was supported and staff were aware of the importance of promoting people’s independence.
