Welcome to Water Royd House Nursing Home
My name is Catherine Smith and I am the Registered Manager of Water Royd House Nursing Home in Barnsley, South Yorkshire.
Water Royd House is a purpose-built 62-bedded care home that caters for residential, nursing and residential dementia. I have worked for Maria Mallaband Care Group for eight years, starting out as a part-time Registered Nurse and have slowly worked up the ranks to become the Manager, a post which I have held for the past two years. I have 19 years experience as a Registered Nurse, working within the private sector. I have recently completed my level 4 in leadership and management and hope to further my academic career.
We have recently opened a new dementia wing at Water Royd which we have named 'Memory Lane' and we are all eager to make this a success by providing a pleasant and safe environment for our residents to live in. We also specialise in the delivering of palliative care and I personally give lectures at the local hospice on palliative care within nursing home.
Our aim at Water Royd is to provide a homely atmosphere so that all our residents, families, staff and visitors feel welcome and wanted and that we deliver the best most professional care there is.
