Welcome to Oaklands Residential Home
Hello, I am Sam Kuppusamy and would like to introduce myself as the Manager at Oaklands.
Oaklands is located in the peaceful village of Kirk Hammerton and caters for nursing, residential/personal care, dementia care, palliative care, day care and respite care. The Acorn Suite is specifically designed to offer support to those suffering from dementia as well as adults with Mental Health issues.
I am a Registered Nurse and Registered Mental Nurse and have a long and varied career in nursing homes and hospital environments. I am a pragmatist by nature and can be creative and innovative at problem solving. I recognise the values of traditional and appropriate practice in care of the elderly, while embracing new ways of improving it, such as personalisation and enablement.
I aim to work in partnership with our residents, their relatives and the community, creating achievement autonomy for clients to decide what is the best for themselves.
