Hello, I am Yvonne Dobson and i feel honoured to be the Care Manager of Oaklands Care Home in Kirk Hammerton situated between Harrogate and York.
Oaklands carers for the elderly individual who requires either respite, residential, nursing or dementia care. The Acorn Suite is specifically designed to offer support to those suffering from dementia as well as adults with Mental Health issues.The building is situated in stunning countryside but with easy access to the nearby towns.
I have spent the majority of my working career, which spans over 30 years, as a nurse educator at York University moulding the professional nurse of the future however, recently I decided that the practice of nursing, particularly nursing care of the elderly, became more important to me. I therefore feel privileged to have been given the opportunity by Maria Mallaband Care Group to be responsible for the delivery of quality care for our residents at Oaklands.
The team are developing their knowledge and skills to tailor care according to the history, personality and preferences of every individual resident, ensuring that they are respected for what makes them unique.
